Actually, the TC3 plastic bones can work with some modifications. The result is super light bones that won't bend, and are so cheap that you won't care if you break one.

I might just have to start bagging up a kit with everything necessary for the conversion in it. Just curious... if I were to do that, what would you be willing to spend on such a kit. It would include the new pins and adapters to make the bones fit the Losi outdrives. IT wouldn't include the Associated plastic bones.

Trips,

How would you compensate for the end of the bone that inserts into the outdrive? The bones have different OD ends.

If you really want to go lighter, adapt a pair of the Losi slider universals to the car.

The first set I did, I used some thin walled plastic tubing. The bone fit in the plastic nicely and the plastic fit in the outdrive. I cut the tubing into pieces around 3/8" long and made some slightly elongated holes for the drive pins. Then I pressed the Associated pins out of the bones, slipped the tubing on and pressed the 3/32 pins into place.

For a production version I'd probably use carbon fibre tubing instead of plastic.

I wondered about that about a month ago. Trips...can you post a picture? I have the aluminum ends on the rear but would consider it for the front end.

Trips,
I would be really interested in adapting TC3 driveshafts for my XXX-S. PM on the parts cost and shipping. Thanks.

I guess I'll have to order up some of the carbon fibre material and make up a few sets. It'll be a week or two before I can figure out pricing, and I'd run them in a few cars here to see how they hold up before I decide to start making them for sale.
I'll keep everyone posted...

What is the Losi part number for the Ball Stud that you put in the Rear Carrier like Hodge does?

Thanks

Do I want the .188 Ti Ball Stud, .250 Ti Ball Stud, or .380 Ti Ball Stud? This is for the Rear Hub carrier.

I'm working on an aluminum oneway for the XXXS- what would you guys say if we designed it to use the TC3 outdrives so you can use TC3 bones? No mods or anything? Trips- you guys could still use the deal you're making on the diffs.
Just wondering- give me some feedback here or on this thread- I can repair oneways
