What time are you going up to CP on Sunday?

Not as early as normal. I think John said they'd be starting practice around 9 so I'd say leave here around 7:30.

I may cruise up, not sure yet. I will be going to SoCal next Tuesday for some last minute practice before I build the 2 cars for Reedy..

I tested and ran the new Brood Kr based mod today at SoCal, once I got the gearing and timing down this thing had tons of rip! I was using a 8x2 that would be able to pass a 6 turn... awesome stuff!

has this been done before - Tamiya TA04 arms on a Losi XXX-S?
hi there xxx-s guys
ive recently brought out my xxx-s from the shelf (after about 4 mos. of semi-retirement ) and plan to use it for our weekly 23T fun runs. due to the nature of the track (wood barriers with no corner dots), a mistake is costly. i am using a tamiya TA04, mainly because the suspension components are a bit stronger than the xxx-s. another reason is that the track's hobby shop only stores tamiya products - a broken arm is just a few minutes (and a lot of $$$ ) away.
as i was disassembling the xxx-s, i lined up a set of TA04 suspension arms and they look like they could fit. the only changes that seems to be done are the ff:
1. ream the TA04 arms to fit 1/8" losi hinge pins
2. ream the XXX-S front C-hubs and rear knuckles to fit tamiya 3mm hinge pins
3. put a couple of spacers on the hinge pins to line up the tamiya arms on the losi arm mounts
has this modification been done before? what are the effects on the handling? i am not really into serious competition with this project - just a weekly thing with my buddies - we all run 23T stock all weekend.
i hope to be able to get all the proper parts to make this modification by this weekend. thanks for any info on this matter

Marvi - Square makes delrin arms for the XXXS that will be really strong. You should be able to get Steve @ Speedtech to special order you some on his next Square shipment.
I wouldn't suggest running another manufacturers A-Arms as the geometry will never be the same.

Yep guys, EddieO has some hot motors coming out of his place, definately worth picking one up and giving it a shot, this 8x2 surprized the hell out of me yesterday...

Just got my red screws from fastener express. Pretty good screws, although i torqued the head right off one of the ones going into my front inner pivot blocks. Now i gotta find a drill bit small enough to dig the sucker out
