I hear that the Orion equipment is pretty good. A 8.5 Race Edition motor should do you just fine. Their Vortex ESC is okay, but good enough for racing.

can someone help me out a bit.. i need help understanding "turns"

so im thinking ide like to put in an 8.5 turn, i also found a deal on a 5.5 system.. so what is it going to do slower . faster?

and then you got kv, which i understand a bit better.

so if a motor has a turn rating does the same motor also have a kv rating and vice versa, any idea how to determine this??

stupid questions i know.. google aint much help!

Not to take over you thread but i'm looking for a race esc and motor for my t3.

For your tc5r you might want to go with the mamba max pro 9000kv setup I used to run this in my cyclone tc and it's really fast! It's not race legal though.
