Like you say Matt. It's all sour grapes.

I have no idea!
Maybe 1/12th on carpet is much more important for the tire companies, but they should be able to figure it out....

What is used on the track for traction? The track looks really black on the drive line.

Just my take on the tires
I'd love to see Nationals and Worlds go to a spec foam tire as it would stop the bickering about equipment and place the win solely on talent. There's too many people in this sport that like to use the equipment as the excuse.
Tires are too important to the overall handling of the car, probably about 50-60% of the setup alone is tires, maybe more.
This is just my opinion...

Well, ROAR doesn't prevent special equipment in the modified classes at nationals....just in stock, which requires the part be commercially available for 14 days(I think thats the magic number)
Motors and Batteries need to be approved, as do bodies....and tires are usually handouts.....so the ability to bring something new is limited to the cars themselves or custom electronics (speed controls, etc) or custom motor mods allowed under the rules (custom brush hoods, custom winds, or armature cuts)
I am fine with spec tires.....I just don't think there should be a limit on them.....let them buy as many pairs as they want, its worlds, I want to see the guys racing at optimal levels....
And a durometer wouldn't be able to spot prototype tires....they could be using a new special rubber that wears less....its durometer rating could easily be the same.

Surikarn 4th with a corally! Cool!
Eirik: Will you go to Jens Memorial in Eskilstuna the first weekend of December? The race is almost full allready, so you better sign up now if you want to participate.
Regards,
Arvid

Greg Amendola - It is the World's, it isn't about who is the best driver but who is the best team as well. It has always been allowed to run prototype equipment and I think this is what progresses our hobby. If they required limits on tires and what have you, than why would they ever produce a better product if every race was to run the same thing. You would be destined to run CS27's for your whole RC career and chassis geometry would be based on that tire. We would be stuck in a rut.
I like that US nationals are going spec because anyone can attend those races and it isn't fair to the new racer if prototype stuff is faster. Ifmar worlds is qualfied for and is the creme of the crop, let $$$ show the way for at least one event so we can enjoy better technology.

Right now I think it's 13 World titles. I wonder if he will leave Florida with another 2.
He is certainly capable of doing that.

@Arwide
Unfortnately I will not come to Sweden for that race, time and money is an issue right now!
I will go to the Carpet World Cup in Switzerland the weekend after, so I will focus on that one!
