Default big tracks

Anders,
as far as big tracks go, if you are ever in ohio you should check out our track in Hamilton. I don't think it is humanly possible to gear a 1/12 scale car high enough for that track. i think the overall track length is 1300' with a back straight of 280'. We have some trouble gearing nitro sedans high enough. The 2003 1/8 onroad worlds were held here. it would be fun to see 15 or so 1/12 cars on that track at the same time.

With too long straits, there will be major problem with motors going out of balance. Perhaps a geared up 12 turn will be better. It is actually 0,5 sec quicker with 12 turn than with 7 turn on the 1/8 track here in Gothenburg.
But who knows? We might race brushless then?

Marc, many congratulations on an excellent display of driving. In my opinion your car wasn't handling any better than those of your closest competitors. In my book the World's best driver won the World Championship fair and square. You fully deserve this win!

Oscar, many congratulations to you too. The hard work over the past years has finally paid off. The V2 design is a force to be reconned with and is here to stay! Also my thanks to both Joe Pillars and yourself for the great support provided to all the Orion and Peak drivers at the event!

As to the organization, off course there are things that can be critisized and hopefully the next organizing committee will take note. BUT, given all the problems before (e.g. hurricanes!) and during the event, as a participant I can only thank the organizers in general and Jorge in particular for a job well done!

Reading through this thread I am surprised about the amount of controversial topics discussed. As a driver I didn't feel there was a lot of controversy, in fact a lot less than is usual for these types of events...
Tony - it was a great race to the end. Hope you had a safe trip back.

What is IFMAR's reasoning in the rule that says the track must be changed 60% between warm up and race ?

I have to agree with Anders here; what's the point having a warm up then !

Rangulo's comment about X Ray's arm twisting - or rather, let's be kind to them and call it persuading attitude is not surprising. They really thought they had the Worlds all wrapped up, didn't they.

So that's the Italian trackat Collegno that's going to be used in a couple of years. That should keep X Ray happy. It's big and blindingly fast, and not too far from home for them. So there shouldn't be any excuses this time.

At the end of the day the best drivers with the best cars made the A final and won. And yes, Mark R is certainly among the best, if not the very best.

Marc- WC at 17.

Cavaleiri wasnt too old either.

I am uhhh-well nearing 40 quickly. Doesnt this news make you happy-and yet bummed too? I mean-I'll never be as good as marc is now. But-what if I started when i was 12 or 13??

Hmmmm-the mind reals at the possibilities.

I LOVE racing!!

It is simply to give everyone a fair chance. With so little practice, a driver with extra track time would have a HUGE advantage. Especially when you consider that 2 of the 5 practice rounds are used to seed the heats.

Last time was way colder than normal. So I bet in January it will be sunny and 20.
