Adrian, Don knew.. and gave me a new set.... Which helped, but it didn't for that qualifier.... I know he was replacing a number of sets all weekend....

Hi guys,
I mailed the EFRA-IFMAR liason officer, Carlos Gomez Ambrosio as well as Mike Haswell ( Efra electric chairman ) about this, as I agree with you 100 %, and we need to know whta to use at the race.
Today I recieved a answer from Mike, who got the answer from IFMAR that, and what I got was this:

Hi Anders

I have checked and things should be sent to the drivers two months before the event.

AFN
Mike

Kind of a thin answer from IFMAR if you ask me.

Ok, so according to that statement we should receive all information no later than August 23rd since the Worlds start on October 23rd. The waiting begins.....

Anders, you coming for the 2nd "warm-up'?

Jeff

Hey,

It would be really good for the organisers to advise the airport that there will be a lot of guys coming into the Orlando region at worlds time with some unusual looking gear. I would hate for anyone to get their RC gear confiscated at the airport, especially me.

I like to lock my bags and escort them to inspection so I can explain things, if need be.

don't lock your bags if you are flying in/out of a US airport.

definitely not a good idea...

better to just put in an RC magazine

but you should fully expect them to confiscate any flammable liquids, etc., even in checked baggage.

Dont fly with flamible liquids. They will find them and throw them out along with anything else that looks suspicious...like CA, Kicker, Shock oil, comm drops, bearing oil, etc. I lost all of the above on the way out to the Novak Race in 2003 because of one can of TQ Purple in the same box.

You can get everything you need here in the US. Besides...we have all the really nasty traction stuff that is banned everywhere else on earth!

Donít stress people. I just flew around the USA with my RC car gear and didnít get hassled once. I didnít get hassled on my international flight either (to or from the USA). I just left my checked in luggage unlocked and I didnít even stick around while it got x-rayed. Not saying that no one will get hassled, but it is not as big of a deal as you might think. They might ask a few questions though if you carry on your battery packs, I put them in my check in luggage to avoid this (makes your luggage a bit heavy). I also made sure that I didnít have any flammable liquids with me. If you do take your battery packs as carry on then you will get stopped and asked questions, but there is nothing that says you can not take batteries on board a plane, so you are doing nothing wrong. If you do get asked a few questions just let them know it is all radio control car gear and you are attending a big race meeting. They will then usually start asking questions like ďCool, how fast do they go?Ē It is a sudden contrast in attitude. When I was in Germany my RC car gear got tested for explosives, I had to go into a special room and everything. Its just part of travelling with RC cars.

Default How will the Hurricane affect the track

Does anyone have any updated news on how the Hurricane has affected the track. It does not sound good. I am a little worried now having just forked over $5000.00 for flights and accomodation.

Fatbear. the hurricane went right thru that area. It's hard to get any information as power and phones are still down. So far it looks like our state race (next weekend). might include a free labor party. We are all waiting for a fseara decision so we can cancel hotel reservations/rebook as needed. Hopefully Florida Power will get service restored soon in that area and things will go back to normal. FTS has a lot of people who will help get the repairs done in time for the worlds.
