Default Binding Problems w/ RX & TX

I'm trying to bind my RX and the light doesn't flash rapidly. It is always solid. I made my own bind plug with a servo extension. I connected the two end pieces together. Does the middle piece need to be removed completely? Based on that am I doing something wrong?

Anytime. JK. Remove the center wire if you haven't done that yet.
