have another strange thing to report that happened today, something that I have never seen before.

I went to charge my 3000HV pack as I usually do, and as it was charger all of a sudden it started to go faster and faster with the MAH and time charging! It was as if someone was speeding up time, literally!

I went ahead and disconnected the charger and then reconnected and it didn't happen again. Very strange.

I have one, and it doesn't work as well as it used to. I never run it on AC mode as I found that false peaks a lot. Oh well, I'll send it back, my GFX is my main charger. Hmm, are they offering a refund? If so, i think I would get a different charger.

I hope that Associated does something like Novak did with the Spy Lithium recall...I would exchange for LRP Competition...even if I had to pay a little extra.

How did Novak resolve that issue?

*edit*

just read the Novak recall notice....they had a good deal where when you returned the product you had a choice of several replacement options or an option to get higher priced items with a small fee. since AE/Reedy is the LRP distributor it would be nice if we could opt for the LRP Pulsar Competition.

hopefully we hear by the end of the week the status of the recall.

I may just have to get a different charger. Not sure what though as I like the features on my current charger, just don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

I just hope that do a swap program and not hold these chargers for repairs. They are about to get hit with hundreds of chargers all at once. I hope they have a hundred packaged and ready to drop names and addresses onto so they can put them in the mail the moment they get our FUBAR chargers.

My fear:
-out of pocket cost for shipping old one to them
-out of pocket cost for brokerage fees
-long wait time for repairs.

Pretty much the same concerns here... I just got a brand new pack and I'm afraid to put it on my 'high quality' charger. Sad that I went from a Duratrax Intellipeak to a Reedy charger and I now have to consider that a down grade! Yikes!

Already got my eye on another charger. It admittedly does do all the stuff the Quasar Pro did, but since I'm afraid to use my Quasar Pro off of AC now, things just about level out.

Here is something scary...

I just called Associated and they didn't even know about the recall. The gentleman on the phone said nothing was wrong and he was still using his QP. When I read the webpage posting to him, he was a little upset since no one at Associated had bothered to tell the customer service/technical support group.

He is going to dig into the issue and I will call back later.

I do not have multiple chargers, so this is really making me impatient.

Hmm...bizzare! Customer service doesn't even know about the recall?? Maybe it hasn't been communicated because they do not have a plan of action yet.

I called back and customer service is now aware of the recall but they do not really have any details. They still claim the charger is okay to use. The modifications will be more like enhancements. I hope what they said today about the recall is not true...Associated is planning on just repairing and sending back. Once they receive your charger, it will be 7-10 business days. That would put me out of racing for over two weeks!!!

No sense in yelling at the customer service person but if that is true, I will never buy an Associated product again...no cars, chargers, batteries, motors, etc...

i have already had 2 reedy quasers (associated quasers in US i think) and they have both packed up.

that has already put me off buying reedy chargers.

i think the fact that the chargers have had a lot of problems has put people off.

as as someone said before, it will put them out of racing for 2 weeks or so. i doubt many people will want to piss racing over a charger. so reedy/AE best get their act together and sort it out.

ok, i will shut up now

That's for local shipping, too bad for us. We may even have to bay 3x as much!

If I mail it there, will AE pay for the shipping back to me?

That doesn't make sense...

The recall posting said specifically to discontinue use immediately

'Enhancements' my azz...companies' don't do emergency recalls for 'enhancements'!

At least they did a recall, and didn't follow the leads of such likes as ford. Remember the Pinto?

They went poof too.
