Does anyone make a 72T metal spur gear for the tc3?

i not entirely sure whether that would such a good idea. unless you have a veritable beast of a motor it would probably end up messing with the performance quite seriously due to the increase in the rotating mass. also if you were looking into it due to stripping the spur then you might end up stuffing a different and potentially more expensive part. i might be wrong but that is my theory.

I had a feeling that was going to be my answer.
I have gone through two spurs in less than two weeks, due to tiny pebbles. .
as for the motor its a D5 12x1

Ah....eh....Try fashioning a spur cover, Metal spur is only gonna screw something else. I'd be damned if the 72t spur in my TC3 strips out anytime soon....standard kit spurs (in most kits) are tough as f*k.....Are you sure your'e getting a proper mesh? And I hope you are replacing them with Kimbrough

That happened to me once...except with 64p gears

While we are on the subject of gears: NEVER go 64 pitch!!! They strip even easier

I've used 64p spurs (RW. Kimbrough mostly) for over 1 year now with no problem. In my SD i ran the same spur for about 10 races and more than 20 days of practice but then swapped it to get higher gearing for outdoors

Try 64 pitch RW Racing machined spur gears and 64 pitch Ti-Racing pinion gears. They hold up VERY well.

I've probably haven't tried RW spurs yet....I'm hearing from my Dad that his ti-pinions are working well for him....I don't need 64 for now though

Just want to ask this thing. was this machined spur gears allowed in the race?.. If so was this considered as a hop-up part?.

The machined spur is not made out of metal, it is machined nylon or some sort of other plastic.

Thanks bro!! I'm about to check the internet if there really is a especially machined/milled spur gear.. Anyway I have a factory team tc3 and still wondering whats the best/optimum set-up in a technical/tight race track. Im using a 48 pitch pinion gear. Whats your gearing?. If you don't mind sharing a little set-up?. thanks..

the spurs were kimbrough gears,
the reason I think its debris is because the spurs only get a small chip in the corner of the tooth, if it was the mesh setup wouldnt it bust out the whole tooth?, or at least most of it..

I like to use a 75t Kimbrough in the TC3...Hell I'll get it into my Evo III if the 72 ever strips....pffft LOL
