ive been hearing good comments about it, at least for what you get with that price. one of the cheapest lathes. but of course its not comparable with a hudy. but again...how much is a hudy?

I got an eagle lathe around 1999, version 2 i think back then. Still running strong, never had to touch the diamond bit.

3 national championships and mulitple regionals!! (all oval, but hey horsepower is horsepower!!)

Basically i think there are very good lathes for the fairly cheap price. My next lathe would have to be a Fantom though, that is how lathes should be built, from an accuracy stand point. I think they got there production problems completely fixed now too!

For the club racer, the new integy / Eagle MOD lathe with the carbide V-Blocks is really nice. NO complaints here. As far as a diamond bit, not needed. just sharpen your carbide one.

My eagle is OK. Not the best I've used but for the money, not bad. I've been using it for about a year and a half now. Once I got it aligned properly it worked good enough. I'm looking into getting either the Hudy or the Fantom soon. Getting to the point where "good enough" isn't good enough anymore. I couldn't belive how smooth the Hudy one was when I was using a friends not long ago.
