yep, what he says.

TA04 FRP chassis is pretty stiff too, just as good as CF. I didn't bother putting the CF onto the TA04PRO the FRP works well.

SSG CF seems a bit flexier than the std black CF. Haven't installed the SSG on any car yet... think I'll just keep it in the bag. Looks too nice.

hey dudes.

does anybody know where i can find a decent part # listing for ta04 trf 'hop up option' parts?

also, does tamiya make a saddle pack lower deck for the ta04. i've heard of some cars getting around with them, but not sure if they're a tamiya part.

What car??
(battery strap... no CF chassis don't use straps
and the poles that hold it up... poles? molded chassis?)

If its a TA04R... you can use tape to hold batts in.

If its a CF plate chassis ($120?)... you can buy the plastic battery
holder part as a sparepart from LHS, costs like $15 only I think.

The 04 R came with a molded tub, not a saddle pack chassis. There was one available at one time though, I have one.

Mr Gary would know a lot more about all things Tamiya than all the non-Tamiya-fans combined, imho...

TA04R-Tuned comes with the CARBON-REINFORCED MOLDED TUB, same as previous TA04Rs. You can buy it as an Hopup Option #53xxx.

TA04R-Tuned Chassis kit

As for the carbonfibre PLATE chassis that takes saddles, its a Tamiya USA oneoff. It is not sold by Tamiya Japan. Your best bet is calling Tamiya USA if they have any left.

Hey guys, enough of the peeing contest. Nobody wins when you're pointed at each other

Both the TA04R AND the tuned kit come with the a tub chassis WITH slots that allows for side by side packs AND stick packs. There are a slew of other carbon and frp chassis that have different batterey configurations.

Gary, you coming out to TA for the RROC?

By Saddle Pack chassis, I was under the impression that you were refering to a 3x3 cell layout which Tamiya did produce in 2001-2002 sometime. I think it's discontinued, but I'll post a pic of mine in a little bit. I need to dig it out of the box it's been sitting in for almost 2 years

Rod, Yeah I'll be there. It kinda sucks because I didn't get into the lottery, but I still have to be there for coverage....Yeah, I'm not allowed to play, but I get to watch all you guys have fun running on my favorite track in the country...just throw the salt into the wound, lol. That's ok, I just started working on TCS Nats setup 60 days earlier than I was going to...and Daddy found something he like

WC, Thanks for the complement. When you run one companies product almost exclusively for 7 years, you tend to get familurized with it. It's funny that for the last few years I have walked into the LHS to order stuff and just say...Yeah, I need 5 53412s, 6 53433s, bla, bla, bla...I just need them to come out with a P/N 8675309, that would be most dialed

Here's what the Saddle pack chassis looks like complete with upper deck. I think someone in the US actually made these for Tamiya, but I forgot who it was. These were really nice to have for TCS races too, especially before the 414M was released (previous versions were limited production items and not available thru distributors so the 414 was not legal).
