I have never gotten the KR to work for me.. I bought one 12t Double for touring mod and my monster stock is just as fast as it. It over heats really quickly.. Ive trued the comm and lubed everything up but still runs like crap.. And the brush hoods are really tight on the brushes, to the point that I have to file the brushes down just to get them in the motor without them binding... Anyone else have problems like this with the KR?

Losispeed?
How much timing are you running?
Should be inthe 12 to 18 range, closer to 12. Try 1 .5 notches. |
I have been running 0 timing. Figured I would start with that untill I could get past the other issues the motor is having.. That KR is to pricy to just throw away, but Im thinking about it!
|
I've had nothing but great luck with the KR for 2wd offroad - running 11 dbl mostly. I run stock brushes (766), stock springs, and timing at 12*. Gear it right (81/19-20 on the B4) and it rips.
I've been experimenting with it in 12th scale, but have better luck with a Ti armature and end bell on the KR can. I guess that is the PT. Yes, Blackstock said the same thing in his thread. |

Originally posted by rayhuang It is possible that youve got problem-but are you sure your using stock motor brushes in it like 766, 767 or e's? Also-0 timing-No way. Gotta bump it up to the first hash mark at least. |
Rayhung said it 0* timing = MUSH
.

Try some stiffer springs. The stock KR springs on Reedy motors tend to be very soft and can cause the brushes to bounce which generates a fair amount of heat.
|
Ill try stiffer springs with more timing. Has anyone had a problem with the brush hoods being very tight. Mine will bind the brushes and cause them to hang.
|
I use Trinity purple springs on my Kr and Ti motors.
The Krs I set to 1 notch of timing (12 degrees) the Tis a bit more. |
