Default how do you use and maintain ceramic diff balls?

i just got a pack of 1/8" ceramic diff balls from speedzoneusa for my rc12r5 and was wondering if i need to use a different grease, do i adjust tension differently? will these balls grind away at my diff rings?

any advice about using ceramic diff balls would be welcome.

I don't do anything different as far as grease, tension or break in compared with normal steel diff balls.

Proper prep on the diff rings is always a must, but ceramic balls seem to be more consistent with less maintenance.

Chrome plated balls are the worst. Once one ball starts chipping chrome, it'll cascade through the diff, causing it to get very crunchy, real fast.

As mentioned always prep the rings regardless what diff balls you use and then just build the diff as normal. Ceramic diff balls will last a very long time.

Default Dave Irrgang Method

I tried Dave's method a while ago and never went back. You can use less than half the spring pressure. The diff performs perfectly and stays smooth for a long time.

Yeah, I use different grits and such, but I definitely don't polish the rings. Makes a world of difference.
