KR Mod Motors vs 19 Turn Quad Mag Motor, differences?
I am posting this thread to get some info from those who have had both motors.
Basically I KNOW that the quad mag obviously has the 19 turn arm in it and comes locked at 24 degrees.
The issue is that Associated recommends that the KRs be set at 12 degrees timing, but they bump the timing on the Quad Mag 19T up to 24 degrees. This seems to be causing the motors to demagnetize as racers at my track have motors that scream for a few races and then are pretty much cruise motors are that.
Associated has stated that they are different motors, and you can't compare them, but they didn't state what the big difference was that allows you to use 24 degrees of timing.

The 19t motors SCREAM, but you have to gear them very tall. I have not had a problem with performance dropoff. I have had a problem with it eating brushes when trying to get max performance out of it.

2 runs max with e-brushes.

in the beginning I was having brush eating problems but the motor was pretty fast.
I got a new one coming in so I am going to work on that one some and see how it goes. Most likely will just cut the timing tab and set it to about 12 degrees. I got alot of big pinions so I should be ok there.
All else fails my Silver can reedy Spec motor runs quite well and I haven't really tuned it at all.
