The micros are great handling, especially with the extra weight of the 540 in the back. It can outhandle any nitro, you obviosly don't have a micro. And making a micro go 68 would be the same reason you make anything go faster, it's fun. :)

Thats because your reading 7200 RPM off the tacometer meaning your engine is actually turning 7200 RPM. If your had a way of measuring how many RPMs these micro RS4 motors are turning then you would have dead on accurate calculations for their MPH too. The problem is no one knows what RPM that motor will turn under the circumstances, and you cant just assume the maximum RPM like some of these guys are doing. I dont know how faster they could go, nor am I saying they arent gong as fast as people say they are. All I'm saying is that without a radar gun your not gonna prove a thing. You act like bigger tires are gonna make the car go faster. Well why dont all the 1/10th cars that have twice as large tires go twice as fast? Could there be other factors at play here?

ajg 04-29-2004 08:49 PM

It was dynoed at 48003 rpms. I'm not making it up. That's pretty dumb to say that you could just put bigger tires on touring cars. I have (2.2 truck wheels), and using the same gearing they barely accelerate. So I don't get what your trying to prove, because all your statments are wrong.

JusBox 04-29-2004 09:06 PM

How do you know for sure it's going 68 mph???

burbs 04-29-2004 11:04 PM

larger tires WILL give any car more top end...changing the tire size is just like changing the gear ratio.. here is the formula

tire diameter 2.0 X 3.14= 6.28

spurgear 100 tooth pinion 25 tooth = 4.0 ratio

now u take 6.28 divided by the 4.0 ratio this equals 1.57 final drive ratio...

ok now instead of 2.0 tire diameter go up to 2.5

so 2.5 X 3.14= 7.85

spur gear is still 100 tooth as is the pinion is 25 = 4.0

now take 7.85 divided by 4.0 = 1.96

now with the same spur and pinion just a different tire size the actual gear ratio has changed a ton... meaning same gearing and bigger tires + more top speed

the reason it does not acelerate well is the gearing has changed so much it has no torque now...

when people race and choose gearing they do not go for speed.. u want an equal balance of speed and torqe.. if u want more speed run mod..

rpm's mean very little if there is no power to get it going..

Easy answer is to buy a venom speed meter, calibrate it correctly, and then take a video of the speed run, remove the shell and show the max speed all in one go otherwise you could still lie about its speed.

ajg 04-30-2004 06:05 AM

Why would I lie about how fast my car goes? Also the speed calculators were designed to figure out how fast you go, I didn't use them to figure it out, but you guys act like it is some thing someone came up with in 5 seconds.

Also, if you want to buy me a speed meter, you can, but I'm not going to.

I totaly beileve Ajg. His micro can prababroly do some where in the 60 range. A 540 motor, so much RPM for a micro, cool lookin chassis im not surprised. All you who think he cant should buy one for yourself and try. You cant say he cantdo 68 mph unless you know for SURE!

ajg 04-30-2004 02:54 PM

Thanks. :)

Also I finished the alfa body for it.

ajg 04-30-2004 05:56 PM

Here's the alfa.

It's metallic red backed with gold. :)

Have you driven a Nitro car that goes "68mph"?

ajg 04-30-2004 06:28 PM

Not a nitro, but I had a 1/10.

Also I just put in a different motor that reduced the speed to 50mph, because it gives me longer run times. and more torque. :)

ajg 04-30-2004 06:30 PM

What?

Then you can't say that it handles better than a nitro car:rolleyes:
