errrr yeah...... a micro with taht kind of motor.... and u can't really prove it.... why don't u just get a speed gun and check the speed yourself? And then post the damn speed on here. Doesn't give us much info weather showing on a vid. Needs to hav background info

Actually ajg is right. A micro with a 540 will go 68mph. trust me guys ! Its unbelievable. Ive done 4 cell lithiums 16+volts on my micro with a speed 300 motor and pulled of around 60 mph. But, ajg is running a 540 ! At 7.2 volts on a speed 300 is only around 30,000 rpm and with a 540 7.2 volts it can go all the way to 60,000 rpm. Here I'll show u guys how fast my 6 cell [7.2 volts]speed 300 micro is. Now imagine how fast it will be with a 540 size motor ! and with higher gearing !

click on the white camera after u go to this link to view the vid.
Its WMV. Format

Gear Ratio- 2.07
Rpm- 48000
Tire Size- 1inch (not quite sure on that one)

Ok so this means every 2.07 times the motor turns the axle turns once right? So we can just divide 48000 by 2.07 and get roughly 23200 rpm. The tire is 1 inch and has a 3.14 inch circumfrence. The tires turn 23200 times per minute and at 3.14 inches per turn they travel 72848 inches per minute or 6070 ft or 1.15 miles in one minute. Thus coming out to 69 mile per hour and making this statement made 100% true mathmatically minus the areodymic drag of the vehicle and if it has a 1 inch tire or not. A taller tire would actually made the equation faster. A 1 1/4 inch tire would have been going around 85 mph.

Yes - the statement is 100% "mathemetically" true.

Of course, the mathematics are based around a few assumptions... no drivetrain drag, no aerodynamic drag, and an electric motor that produces it's maximum power at full revs.

HOWEVER - in reality you have - drivetrain drag, aero drag, and an electric motor that DOESN'T produce it's full power at full revs.

Take at least 1/3rd off that top speed to be realistic about how fast you are going.

There's much more to speed than RPM...

Go to:

http://www.teamassociated.com/racerh.../gearform.html
Go to the MPH:car specs
Then type in 1.432 in the tire size
2.071 in the gear ratio
and 48003 in the motor rpm

It comes out to 98.732 mph.

Now take 31% of the motor rpm's off (for drag).
Which is 33122, then recalculate.

It comes to 68.119 mph.

well i checked out the chart and according to it the mph it shows are deadly accurate.. within 1 mph...thats going by our dragcar though with 36 inch tire and 4.56 ratio at 7800 rpm it was right there on the mph

I personally owned a 540 micro. I was using a 14 turn motor in it and all that I can say is that I have never seen something so small go so fast.

My micro was faster than a friend's Nitro TC3 with a Novarossi MT12. I don't know what that equates to in mph but the car was insanely fast and actually quite stable.

Default I thought this was supposed to be fun...

For a sport that is geared heavily on being fun, there sure are a lot of dicks in it. Dude, I believe your car is fast, and even if it aint... you don't have jack you need to prove. Most of the people on this forum rock, but theres always got to be that one person who just is put out by everything. How dare they not know everything... how dare them... haha, I mean weren't they born with the knowledge already sowed into their brain?

I am not trying to be a "dick" per say , but what is the point in making a micro do 68 mph ? The car sucks for handeling at 15 mph much less any faster . Stick a nitro motor on it , then i will be impressed.

That idiotic comment proves your ignorance.

As far as the nitro motor that has already been done.

Agreed. There are some royal wankers on these groups who insist you have to prove everything. I have seen micros without 540s go fast enough to qualify in the a-main for many mod races so I do believe it.

If you want to check out something really insane you should see this guy NML's Mini-Z that goes 40MPH. He was running it outside at RCX and blowing by cars on the street. I understand he has a drag car that has been clocked on police radar at ~60MPH!

Probably on the same freq as one of the demo drivers...caused a glitch, nitro engine went WOT and then boom!

My 415 did 73mph this weekend...in the trunk of my car.
