Guess he hasn't heard of Aveox Brushless systems. They are the systems to get. Expensive too, but Its the choice for insane speed runs.

ajg 07-12-2004 11:13 PM

Actually I have heard of them. Don't they top out at 50,000 rpms though? I'm going to try one of my other motors (P2K stock) in it, and see about the battery amp draw thing.

RPM isn't everything. With brushless motors, you will be able to gear them MUCH higher then a mod, because they have the torque to pull those. A good brushless system in you car will go like twice as fast. You micro is so light, the you could gear the brushless insanely.

last time I got a 10x1 d6 it was like 44,000 rpms so 50,000 is alot

"the un-official worlds fastest micro rs4 went 159mph. There are no videos but there is a time slip of it"

I got this from another site. He was using a brushless 540 motor and who know how many cells.

I'm sorry but that just sounds like complete BS!

If Cliff Lett & Associated could only get 111mph and some other insane speed run guys can't get near that, I doubt a micro can. I don't care what the power to weight ratio is, you need lots of volts and silly brushless systems to do that... never mind some awesome tyres.

kufman 07-13-2004 09:44 AM

ya, UN-OFFICIAL being the key word. There is not way that a micro can run at those speeds.

ajg 07-13-2004 10:17 AM

Why are you guys telling me? All I did was copy it from another site.

Neil Rabara 07-13-2004 10:20 AM

Which site?

GundamWZero 07-13-2004 10:20 AM

An Aveox system on a micro? Just think about it: All those batteries, wires and speed control unit, not to mention tires, and motor......... it'll be a rolling mess!!!!

I talked to a friend of mine, he was a sponsored driver, forgot with whom, but he also said that a micro moving at 68mph alone will be unstable to drive, unless you're driving it on glass! Now at 80+............ But we are just waiting for the micro to arrive to d the mods......

What electronics and stuff are you going to use? :)

That's a pretty large site, do you have a link directly to the results?

ajg 07-13-2004 10:30 AM

I don't remember were it talked about the car, I just found the one statement about the car, and decided to post it. Sorry, couldn't find it.
