Setup.
Electronics: GM V12 esc Epic binary 2 10 turn motor Futaba radio system Hitec HS-81MG servo cp-1300 battery pack Aluminum stuff (in purple): Front upper blukhead front knuckles front dogbones front body posts rear body posts front shocks rear vcs shock front ball diff cabon fiber stuff: penguin 3500lm chassis Penguin upper deck penguin rear deck aktionrc motor plate (for the 540 motor) rear shock mount (custom made) Other stuff: rear ball diff with purple aluminum parts hard foams in front soft foams in rear large foam bumper (purple) long white body pins 28 tooth pinion Body: Protoform Alfa Romeo 2.0 He'll need to make some custom parts, or just by the conversion kit from www.aktionrc.com (I think that's it) Also, he woun't be able to really drive it on a tennis court, too small and not enough traction. That's were I used to drive my micro for fun. It goes over 70mph with this setup right now. :) |
I printed the setup. I give it to him tomorrow. Is that Epic a 10 turn motor a single, double, triple, or quad?
He has a Novak Spy as his ESC, good enough? The tennis court here is made of rubber and it was once a dual court. the hobby/craft shop on post took the nets and pipes out of the court to accomodate a rather large course; big enough to run nitro! They just don't get the funding they want from the government to built a better track. Oh, by the way........we are in the Army, and the race course is on a military installation! Shows ya how many soldiers races r/c......... We even got an off-road course in Balad, Iraq! ;) I don't race off-road.....But I drift every now and then! :D |
The motor is a single, it's the new motors with 4 magnets on the can, so it has higher rpms.
The spy esc can't handle a 540 motor, so he'll need a esc that can handle a mod 540 motor, my GM V12 esc can go down to a 7 turn motor, but I use a 10 turn just to be safe. I used to race my micro on a dual court too. :) |
dude u need to try getting a quantum comp. 2 or a Keyence ESC for your micro. Then get a 6 turn motor. That thing would fly!!
So u have an actually Epic 10T motor that u use for 1/10 scale cars? |
Yes. :)
|
Also, if I add 4 more cells to the battery pack it will get it to about 120mph, and yes people have got there micros over 100mph. :)
|
Thats too insane. The car will go flying.
|
there is NO WAY it will go 120, the speed record isint even that high. Please just stop this thread
|
I'm not the one that "went over 100mph" that's what I heard.
HEY. Pballkid, why don't you stop posting here if you don't like this thread. Also, if you want to prove me wrong, send me $50 to buy a new battery pack (since they are custom made). If you don't want to do that, stop saying it isn't possibly, because you can't prove it know. So far I've proved everyone wrong by how fast my car goes now. |
My charger only chargers up to 8 cells, so I would only be able to reach around 100mph.
Also, futureal, why don't you make that magazine article on a 540 micro? |
vids can be sped up, its all editing, you proved NOTHING
|

I don't even know how to, or have the capability to speed up a video.
:) |
