Sanyo 3300: any good??
 

Are the Sanyo 3300's any good, or would it be worth spending an extra £10 to get GP's?? These are fully matched competition packs by the way, in a semi-competative open mod class.

I'm surprised that the GPs are more expensive, in the US, GPs have always been more affordable.

I have had no experience with the Sanyos, but it is the almost unanimous decision that the GPs are far superior.

How much are they charging in the UK for 3300 cells? You can get 3300gp packs in the US for $30. If you bought your cells in the US you could clean up considering the current exchange rate. :lol: 18 pounds plus shipping would get you a gp 3300 pack. www.zxracing.com

My take on sanyo's are like this......they are nintendo and Gp's are the play station.....meaning that nintendo was the power house with a well known name and then this new comer comes along and blows them out of the water by being better priced and better in quality. Nintendo is still around just like Sanyo but everyone is talking about the PS2 aka GP's..:lol:

i think he means the sanyos are stock cells and matched GP's cost 10 pounds more.

No, both of them are fully matched packs from Nuclear Power.

my experience though somewhat limited indicates the following.

Sanyo cells supply a lot of punch at the very beginning of the discharge cycle but drop off rapidly and feel flat by the end of the race. GPs are more consistent from beginning to end.

Don't know why and I am sure that others may have differing opinions.

Don't know why more is being charged for the GP's - they are a cheaper cell to buy in bulk, and also better all-round!

18 months ago, a matched Sanyo pack would cost £60 - £50 minimum.

GP's are a lot cheaper - you can find matched packs for £40 or less.

the sanyos dont have as many cycles as the gps before they start to drop off, just like when there were the sanyo 3000 and the ultra metal 3000. the panasonics were superior.
