I run both a GT7 and an LRP Quantum pro-sport. I am selling the GT7 'cause I can't stop it glitching in my X-Ray. I've even recently changed radio's from a JR XS3 to a KO Mars thinking that might be the problem, but to no avail.
For me LRP = No glitch, GT7 = glitching. I can't pick any other difference. Oh, and the LRP is smaller.

I have a GT 7 in both my Buggy and truck. Never had a problem with either of them. A month or two ago the guy that pits next to me at the track blew up his QC2 after like 3-4 battery packs. The whole thing just melted. LRP sent him a brand new one pretty quick. He sold it and bought a GT 7.....

I race at SoCal Raceway regulary. My quantum (3 years old)l blew up in a race. I sent it to Associated and they sent me a QC2 ($58,00 charge to me). I've only raced it stock and its been great. Also in the interim I asked guys who worked the counter at SoCal if they had a preference. They said to stay away from the GT7, they had many returns. He also said that first runs of quantums had their own set of problems. Since I have many Novak items that work great, I went with the GT7. It is a very smooth speed control and I preferred it over the quantum. Unfortunately I changed my receiver and went to set up the GT7. It no longer would allow me to set it. I tried different receivers and radios thinking something else was the problem. I ended up returning the speedo and picked up at Keyence Zero Extreme. I bought it mainly because I heard good things about it, but what was unusal was that the Hobby store said it was the only one never returned for repair (That was this week). The KEyence has many functions you can change, you do need to read the manual (about 12 page!!). So far I like it, but I'll know more as time goes on and I get used to.

this is a bit off topic but since you guys are talking about the GT7 and Quantum 2, i just thought of asking it here anyway ....
would it be ok for me to use the black capacitors that come with the GT7 in a quantum 2? our local shops are out of stock of the worlds kits for the quantum so i was just wondering if the novak cap for the GT7 would work fine without any hitches. dont wanna damage the quantum 2 with a non compatible capacitor. i know they all look and do the same thing but i do also know that capacitors have different ratings so i just wanna be extra careful so i dont damage the Q2. any insights would be appreciated. thanks!

I did the same radio change as you aswell, JR XS3 to KO Mars.
I tried everything and ended up grabbing a GM V12WE and have solved all the problems.
Only thing is i don't like the GM as much as the novak!!

I think their older ESC's were better.. the v7 and the C2. The Q2 and GT7 seem to be much less robust or maybe it's just me imagining it??
