Default Thanks from Andrew and Ian

What a great event the organizers put on. Andrew and I had a great time at our first 2010 Indoor Champs - I don't think that we even got out of the hotel parking lot before Andrew made sure that we would be coming back next year.

The long days were a lot for a 12 year old racer (and much older Dad) and I think he might have 'Champitus' this morning but was all smiles looking back on the race.

There were some great battles in the 17.5 Stock class between Andrew, Austin Harrison and Jim Piersol - with the TQ spread being one or two seconds between the three of them. Andrew was able to take the TQ on the last qualifier - and after a great race Austin was able to take the win. Congratulations to Austin on a great weekend of racing.

I have attached the sheets from the two 17.5 classes - I didn't get one of the Mod class - and some other pictures.

I must say thanks to Martin Crisp and Corey Whiteman for the support they have given Andrew during his introduction to the hobby. They are two great ambassadors for the hobby.

Thanks again,
Ian

Just for the record it was the 30th Indoor Champs. The race started in the spring of 1981 and was held again on Thanksgiving weekend the same year. I had a good time, and hopefully the 31st annual champs will be held again next year, with a few changes made.

Not to be too cranky this morning, but I hope the sponsors got all the recognition they intended at the race. The rest of the racing world saw relatively no coverage outside the hotel in Cleveland. As far as I can tell, there was a rumor that there was a race and a few scraps of photoshopped work was posted to the internet. I would like to congratulate a few buddy's, but I can't quite tell if they were even there!

What not to many know is that the lap times for races were all messed up. In every race there was a random lap that was really low followed by a lap that was higher to correct the error. What we do know is that the TC mod lap range was around 9.5-9.9, superstock 17.5 TC was around 9.8-10.1, and spec was around 10.3-10.7. Any other claimed lap times out of these ranges are suspect.

Spec was not even close to modified but superstock was very close! Congrats to all the winners.
