Hey Everyone,

Back from the WC and trying to catch up on things here. Quite honestly, I was really disapointed with the finishing result as I think the car was actually a lot better than the finishing position. I made some bad mistakes in my runs with new tires and spent nearly the entire weekend figuring out the tire additive routine to get good grip on old and new tires. I found it but unfortunetly it was on the finals day. Definatly learned a lot and it should make for better results the rest of the season.

hana166 - I have not heard of the problems you are having unless you encounter a super hard, head on shot into the wall. Really my only comment would be to loosen and re-tighten all the screws in your car and don't be afraid to tighten them down hard. I saw this in the past with the Photon where a big difference in some drivers having trouble with a chassis tweaking or knocking belts off was due to the fact that they simply didn't tighten the screws down really tight which would give the car that little room to shift or give. Yes, the Evolution does have a little more flex than other cars in this direction but it's not enough to allow a belt to come off in impact. I would also check how loose you are running your belt as most people run them way too loose so they feel great on the bench but actually harmonic on the track and create drag.

cvccsi - Yes, the motor does look like it sits very low but since the motor is moved so far into the center of the car we can lower it with the same "roll clearance" that say the Photon has.

Hi, Josh,
altough you may be disappointed, it wasnt a bad result
Can you post your setup and tyre additive? Im driving in the lrp-hpi challenge in Germany and it could be very useful since we have to run the same tyres ...
thx

No worries Josh. It is still an accomplishment.

I am just waiting to hear word on the 100% CEFX Evo TC coming out. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will come out later this year or next year.

Josh thanks for your answer, I will try your recommendations.

I have to say I am getting on extremely well with your car. Laptimes are right on it.

Its like it leans over a little in the corner and you can see the car pick up a load of traction but not oversteer off power, or lose mid corner speed, and you can keep it there using the throttle because it does not run wide on exit. Wicked.

I can actually see the car is quicker than I am. Just have to raise my technique to use more of the chassis' ability.

Honestly, this is the first time ever, that I'm not fighting the car.

Thanks, Keep up the Good Work

If the xray arms are reversible then you can do it.

Let me ask you a rhetorical question: If you worked for a company and were a major factor in making the company compete with the other top companies and then they screwed you would you run their parts?

Whilst that sounds like a reasonable explanation, I seriously doubt it.
The European market has shown a lot of interest in the tamiya version of the EVO conversion. I would think that it was in his best interest to run it there.

OVA: I have been running one of each EVO Top, EVO Tamiya. Both cars are tremendous and I really can't say which I like better. LOL. The EVO has so much more steering and forward bite over the std top chassis I have a hard time believing that chassis was the only change. Once Josh gets the setup sheets done I'll post it. I can't comment on the tamiya std car as i never drove it, however I can say that both cars are within a 0.1 of each other on any given layout so far.

Best regards,
James
