Hi,

Was just wondering... the shaft that holds the spur gear... how much freeplay (if any) should there be?

mine seems to have quite a bit of free play... in and out of the diff case, as well as along the x and y axis (hope u guys understand what i'm trying to describe).

any feedback welcome.

Check out your assembly of your gear box, the shaft itself has several bearings in a couple of sizes that you might have missed (i did), the shaft itself will come in and out a bit but should not wiggle. other than that the plastic holder itself is not true, you'll need to get the infamous aluminum spur gear holder!

FF03 is getting more body styles, see the search result on tamiyausa site.

http://www.tamiyausa.com/search.php?....x=0&image.y=0

I used to race FF01 and TA02 on the parking lot during mid 90's, it was on-pace with 4wd cars. At the time, my competition was hpi RS4 pro, kyosho ep spider, and not sure if you guys still remember the dual sport from team associated.

I think I'm going to back order all the new bodies on my next Tamiya order

Default Tamiya Nationals Setup

For those who are attending the TCS nationals, here's the setup sheet from today's qualifiers. It's a bit of a departure from the stock setup and will require arm flipping and some work to change to it. Also, longer camber and steering link turn buckles would be recommended.

Thanks to kentech and petitrc for the setup sheet as an editable pdf file.

*edit* I found a mistake on the shock mount position on the rear arms. The attached image should reflect this correction.

What do you mean by "will require arm flipping"

You need to remove the rear arms and replace them in the 'flipped' position. There are 4 holes in the arms...2 on each side that are offset from each other. His setup required one that is opposite of the side the kit tells you to build it with.

BTW, try this setup. His car is beyond uber-dialed. Got a chance to drive it. I think he's cheating but I can't prove it.
