the V2 split blocks are reversible. 1 side is "D"..the other is "XD".

I hope I'm not the only one thinking this, but... what the heck does '1XD' mean?

I'm assuming then that the FF03's width is somewhere between the 160mm of an M-chassis & the 190mm of a standard TC? That could make it more tricky when choosing a body, having to make sure it's the correct width. Think I'll hold off buying one until there's been some track testing done, I don't think I'll get one if it's only a little bit bigger than an M-chassis (and possibly prone to the same grip-roll issues).

XD refers to the width of the block used to connect the suspension arms to the chassis. there is a series of about 10 blocks that can be used to widen or narrow the track width of the car, as well as create different handling characteristics and or create toe in or out, by widening or narrowing either the front or rear block.

The blocks are used on the sedan cars (TA05, TB02, TB03, EVO's, and the TRF 414 - 5 - 6 series)

If you look at the pic of the chassis a couple pages back, the rear only has holes for the 1 piece mounts(the whole bulkhead is flipped over). Couldn't see the front end though. I'm sure there's gotta be some mistake because 1XDs are REALLY short. In fact, they are the shortest tamiya makes. I assume they come with 1As like the other tub models.

Found this way back too. Look at the under side view. The front rear mounts can be split. Then again, we just need confirmation lol.

there "might" be some plastic reinforcements there for the tub (the TB-03 tub had this so you had to run the blocks flipped upside down).... so Tamiya will force you to use the split blocks (unless of course you dremel it off.)

either way the wait is STILL killing me.

So looks like the rear of the front is the split blocks, Eniux, how are the rear blocks? and how are they mounted?

If anyone is interested, I have assembled complete sets of aluminum screws for the Tamiya FF03 (still waiting for my car, but I have the screws gathered up). The entire kit weighs in at only 15g, which is a savings of nearly 35g from stock. The screws are made from 7075 aircraft grade aluminum and are anodized blue. The kit includes the follow sizes and quantities, 79 pieces in total:

The only location that can use the V2 block are the Front axles rear block. The other 3 must use the old type

The rear axle block are 1XD and 1A, that's killing me, not much hobby store will stock 3 1XD block
