Also, try and run a Team Associated 7mm hex on the front axles... I think that is what I have on my FF03.

I use 60k team associated diff fluid on my xv-01 front gear diff. It's a little thick, but you can always use less or 30k. It depends on if you are looking for faster corner exiting. By adding thicker oil, you reduce initial turn in.

With the original ball diff i had the feeling, that there was more traction.

Synthetic rubber cement
Hi guys. I have looked around but was unable to come up with definite answer myself.
Making the FF03 diff you'll need synthetic rubber cement. But what is it exactly? Is it the same as CA? If not, please provide with an #item-number, so I can order some.
Thanks.

I used Shoe Goo. Its not CA, that is brittle. Any glue that's designed for repairing flexible items like bicycle inner tubes, pond liners, shoes etc.

To glue the metal diff plates to the plastic outdrives. Step 1 in the manual.

Shoe Goo works like a champ for this. I use it for a lot of RC related things, but it's the best thing for gluing the plates to the outdrives. Dries hard but is pliable, not brittle like CA. Get it at Wal-Mart, about $5 or so.
Don't use it as diff fluid, that would pretty much make it a spool.

I don't glue the thrust washers to the outdrives at all. If the thrust washers are not keyed, then I use a bit of black grease to lubricate the interface between the thrust washer and the outdrive, so it *can* rotate when the diff is overloaded. I'd rather have the thrust washer slip against the outdrive, instead of having the diff balls gouge the thrust washer.
I have in fact used JB Weld to permanently lock diffs in off-road vehicles that don't have optional spools. Works great. Not applicable in this context, though.

The normal FF03 has wonderful plastic outdrives
