I would start buy going to WWW.Speedtechrc.com They don't sell junk!

My suggestion would be
Losi XXXS
Yokomo Special Edition
Or RC Lab 7 Even

I personally have an RC Lab Seven Even and love it.

Integy Motors probably get you the most bang for the buck. Those are also available at Speedtech. Never heard of Integy? Well, they buy your favorite Mod and stock motors and then tune them. Matrix motors can be tuned P2Ks and MVP motors etc etc.

I love my Hi-tec Lynx 3D FM. There were a lot of guys racing at Ripon with the 3D with Spectra. Then they don't have to change Crystals.

Being from Canada, I would be tempted to go with the RC Lab Seven Even car, because there is a really cool group of Canadian guys that race them there, and would be able to give you lots of tips.

Here is a photo of my RC Lab Seven Even Pro 6.0

Compare the prices off the Yokomo, XXX-S and the RC Lab when it comes to initial cost, spares and upgrades.

OK here's what's hot-

cars-----------
Associated Tc3 series
Losi XXX-S
Schumacher mission
Tamiya TA04-R
Tamiya 414M
Tamiya TB EVO 2
RC labs 7 even
Atlas YM-34T
X-RAY T1
HPI pro 3
Yokomo MR4 series

ESC's
Novak TC2
Lrp quantum comp.
GM V12

radios
KO MARS EX-1
Airtronics M8
Hitec Lynx 3D
Futaba 3PDF
JR XR-3
JR XR-2..... The only AM I would recomend for serious racing
JR R-1 ...most expensive

Motors (stocks)
Trinity P2K
Trinity P2K2
Trinity GM3
Reedy MVP
Fantom tuned motors (tunes all of the above)
BIG JIM RACING (tunes all of the above)

Motors (modified)
TRINITY D4
REEDY TI
Fantom (tunes all of the above)
BIG JIM RACING (tunes all of the above)

Racing cells are a toss up, tires are too track dependant, and tools are pretty much a personnal decision.

UMMMM.... last I recall Raceing cells are the battery.... there are too many guys matching cells that are of high quality to name.... but definately stay away from Panasonic.... I have never had any problems with Sanyo, and those are the only cells I use.

For under $200, go with TC3 racer kit.
It's a complete racing kit right out of the box.

Racer kit shares same design and even lighter parts (composite) than factory team kit.

Then you can hop it up as you please later.
With so many racers, you will get enough help setting it up for the race.

Have fun building it.

Default 189.00 gets you this

http://64.70.208.72/speedtechrc/80.html

There is the link to the www.speedtechrc.com page so that you can see all the machined aluminum and carbon fiber parts.

Do you want everything you need to race for 200 or less, new?

What is your total budget?

I was just thinking, you may not want a "hot" set-up, cause if the police catch you you could get charged with a felony!!! LOL posetion of stolen property is illegal= BAD...
