Micrometer is the way to go for accuracy.....but that is probably getting OTT.

I got the Harbor Freight ones and they're great. The funny thing is, I was looking at the Craftsman ones from Sears, they are the exact same thing. I mean down to the case and the print on them. They just have Craftsman printed on the case and the handle and they were over $100

Do the Harbor Freight calipers come with a storage case? Or something to help protect them?

same with the Calipers I got from Ebay... foam padded case and extra batteries.... 1 set of batteries will last you a year or two before you have to replace... unless you're measuring everything you see...

I got a set off ebay recently, great calipers though I don't think mine came with the extra battery. Came with a nice foam case however.
