Nor-Cal Hobbies is the perfect venue to host this race. To bad it was kinda like a last minute resort, it should have been on top of the list!! Either way, just happy that it worked out in the end because when it's all said and done you will see that the Reedy Race of Champions has a new home for awhile. All the pieces are in place to make this an outstanding event. Expect very good traction on a flowing and rhythm style layout that we do in the bay Sedan racing is really thriving in our area and we should easily pull 80-100 entries for the club races over the next month or so and even carrying over into the summer for the roar nats. Scotty E. made this race an industry standard and a global production and not having him apart of it this year puts pressure on the new hosts with it being so late announced, but we are ready....trust me Anybody who is on the fence about attending shouldn't be, you're not going to want to miss out on this one!

As the entry form states it is one entry per person. This gives as many people as possible the opportunity to compete at this event.

There is not a sportsman class. Yet, as each entrant is allowed to compete in only one class, you should not see the true factory drivers competing in the 17.5 class.

Will there be a warm up race on the spec tires that will be chosen?

Time flies, that was ages ago (9?). I started/owned Werks Racing, now back at the retail end again. I love having all these tracks.

There will be races on our normal race schedule, 2nd and 4th sundays each month. It won't be a rule, but I'm sure 99% of the people will run the spec tire.

There are 2 host hotels, Motel 6 and the Holiday Inn Express. Both hotels are 1 mile from the track and have a multitude of benefits.

Motel 6 is only 43.99/night, can't beat that. There's a McDonald's in the parking lot as well as a Denny's. There's a shopping center across the street that has a target, and you pass by Union Landing on your way to the track. You can email Shan [email protected] for more info, or call (510) 489-8333, just make sure to say Reedy Race.

The other Hotel is Holiday Inn Express $79/night. It's the best Hotel in the area, and a very reasonable rate, they usually charge $109/night. There's a microwave, refrigerator, and HD Flat panel displays. Its in Union Landing, so there's everything within walking distance. You can Marie [email protected] or Ash [email protected] or call (510)475-0600 for information or reservations. Again, mention Reedy Race.

The SPEC Tire for this event has officially been decided. It will be the Solaris tire.

Solaris offers a quality, competitive alternative for a SPEC Tire at an affordable price for 1/10 Touring Car. The tires were formulated for with three aspects in mind, longevity, overall good grip, and low cost. Through our at testing at Norcal Hobbies these tires have proven to be a good balance between cost and performance. They were the spec tire at the 2009 Speedworld cup which reached track temps of 170 degrees and also the 2009 ROAR Region 12 which track temps dropped below 55 degrees. The tires worked flawless in both condition. They were also the spec tire at NorCal's TOP Gun Challenge where the tires were received with high praise.

Specific compound for the Reedy Race will be the "H" (Hard) compound with the GR-Medium inserts.

The Reedy tires will be on the new durable spoke wheel. Solaris has made their wheel so that a disk can be attached to the wheel and give the tires a dish look if so desired by the racer.

Videos of the tires in action can be viewed at solarisrp.com (can a moderator unlock my account so I can post legit urls)

They will be available for $30, tax included.
