How very odd...I've never seen a Yellow/Green TOP wheel before. If if is the solid wheels from before, some of us ran a thin spacer on the narrow (purple)hex hubs to solve this particular problem with the early solid dish wheels. No problems with the wider (black) hex hubs or newer spoke type wheels.

the wheels are neon yellow dish wheels... not sure if they're old or new since we've been using them for a local series since last year.
wondering if thinner hubs would help... the stock black ones are 5mm?

Voodoo, the rubbing is ok. Consider it as disk brakes.

rccartips, i'm thinking you have the same rubbing issue too? i guess its ok since i,ve ran the car a few times already. it was only a few nights ago that i noticed the rims rubbing the lower arms.
anyway, tried diffferent rims... all with the same rubbing issues...
Tamiya (white with no tire)
Yokomo (TW-0312-2)

Voodoo how did you fit the Ta05 outdrive to the HB spool?

With 600grit sandpaper, water, some 6mm shims, a pack of winston lights, a bottle of 1.5L coke zero, and lots of patience. Having discovery turbo playing on the tube helped heaps as well.
Btw, fitted are 46mm universals from tamiya. I think they're too long. Will try fitting 44mm ones.

Hey dudes,
Does any one seem to have steering flop? I know replacing the ball cups on the steering system with the HPI A302 ball cups will reduce the flop but then there's the problem with the floating piece, it flops up down about 1 - 1.5MM and pivots a little bit. Is this normal? I've followed all instructions and even rebuilt the steering system but to no avail. Will I have steering flop if I use the old TC centered system? It just annoys me how precise this thing is but the steering system flops like a......I don't know just annoying.
Thanks

hi,
yes they pretty much all have a little slop in the steering, ive shimmed a little bit of it out, but you dont want to get rid of all of it, otherwise it will cause a slight bind.
the only part of the steering ive shimmed is on the post itself, added about 0.3mm on each side. this takes about 90% of the float away.
hope that helps

Planning on picking up a TCX soon. What parts usually break the most\need to be replaced the most? Also, for mod will the plastic diff outdrives do or should I go ahead and get the aluminum diff halves?
