He is correct, look at the last set of pictures from the warm up race and then look at your TCX. Differently a change in depth on the motor mount.
I would rather have the current motor mount design than having the motor hang off further. I hope the current motor mount fits the new car, as this would be the first thing I would change.

I think that moving out of the motor is up to 3 mm (likely 2 mm...)
Check the motor mounting bolts central support...
Do not think it has great influence on the balance of weight, but will greatly improve the motor assembly and simplifies the choice of gear ratios.

I think until you can actually get a measurment don't guess. Also, if it is further out it is likely to try and balance against the increasing weight of LiPo cells (6800 70c cells are heavier than the then 5800 cells when the TCX was around about coming out to us racers). Try and balance a TCX with a 6800, micro reciever and stubby servo without having to put weight on the motor side !
Pics of the latest edition of the TCXX are on REDRC now (sorry if i missed the link in a previous post). Looks good. Not a great deal of change really asside from the longer steering cranks, split blocks and gear diff. Strange that the front drives have fone back to 44mm, though do they promote more turn in ? hope that the Roche Spool will still fit it as they are bullet proof. At least also most parts will go across as spares. When the TCX came out alot of TC owners sold theirs ASAP, at least with this alot of it is cross changeable.

Does anyone know of a good stockist (that isn't actually Jet Racing/Jet Hobby themselves) who stocks the Jet Racing parts for the TCX ? They have had the split blocks and new style layshaft for some time, but they are bad as they make you pay the PayPal Handling Charge !
I don't mind buying from overseas, so if the shop is based in Asia/US/Canada thats fine.
Cheers

rcmarket.com is another place, but they don't have any Jet stuff at all
those are the only 2 places (aside from ebay) that have Jet racing stuff..
I've ordered from Jet themselves - pretty easy to deal with and very quick shipping (had my parts within a week from time I paid)...so paying a little fee isn't that big of a deal, at least in my opinion..

Split blocks & layshaft
which split blocks would be recommended?
