Hi, Any body have any experience with these speedos?
I have heard good things about the but im not too sure
Have they got punch/brake controll? do they blow up like qauntum 2's and dominator evos? do they have warrantys? Hows their customer service?
Thanks, any advice welcome.

I haven't heard about those speed controllers but if i was in the market for a new highend speed control, I would buy a VFS2000 or Haha Twister (Same thign as the VFS2000)

X2 04-18-2004 10:51 AM

Yea, the Hara would go nice with my pro4
Still like to know about the Vega tho...

I`m running a Vega V2 speedo, its over 2 years old and is still running perfectly, sooo smooth! just ad a 10000uf or 2 4800uf power caps if you want some more punch.. my next speedo will be a V3 for sure

i`ve got a v3, i replaced a gt7 with it. it is water proof (ideal in the uk) as long you cover up the neutral pot & on/off switch which is built in to the speedo & thats all you got no gimmicks, fancy lights, fancy colours, it`s just a small black box.
12 turn motor limit but it is best suited to stock racing(27t &19t).
the reason? it has so much punch for stocks it`s unreal it`s the response the feel of power through the throttle range. the brakes feel like you have just thrown the anchor out to stop your car, very robust, takes crashes & shocks no problem, not fragile like the lrp/nosram(no sensitive bits) carrys more corner speed then novak(more feel) price is also a major factor ie:Q 2 £170,gt7 £130,vega £70 this is in the uk
nows here`s the problem.
warrenty`s Questionable?
customer service Questionable?

Mt jolly, could you post a picture of yours?

How is the size compared to LRP quantum?

Sleighty 04-18-2004 01:25 PM

Well you dont get the lifetime warranty as you do with the quantum.

But im sure if there is an actual fault with the speedo instead of you simply blowing it up, then they will replace it or repair it for you.

I had a Vega V2 and it was a great speedo. It didnt have punch or brake adjustments but you didnt need them. The standard setup is spot on perfect for any conditions. Waterproof and quite small, for three quaters of the quantum price? Cant go wrong

Super Steve 04-18-2004 01:26 PM

LRP's in USA don't have life time warrenty...
it's "limilted"

Hi,

I emailed Centre point a while back about the V3, and they told me it had no motor limit. Also, is there any way to control the punch on the V3, and does it have launch control??

Cheers

Crashmaster

Hatebreed 04-18-2004 04:48 PM

No..you just adjust the neutral and drive..no adjustments on the speedo, thats one of the things that makes is so good, it works good on all tracks i have been on. i`m going to get the V3 quite soon, and keep my V2 as a back up speedo, the quality is great, my 2+ year old v2 havent made any problems at all.. and it has a unbeatable price!

another good thing with the v3, built in schottky diode and on/off switch!

Super Steve 04-18-2004 05:14 PM

How big is the controller,
can anyone post pictures?
Where do you get them?

I was going to buy a cheap speed controller (cyclone or atom) for my new 12th car but what people say about them makes me want to give them a try.

Hardriven RC 04-18-2004 07:06 PM

What brand is it this Vega V3? Am i to understand that Vega is the manufacturer?

Hatebreed 04-19-2004 02:48 AM

The vega is made by vega digital, the size is about the same as a novak cyclone.

here is a pic of the v2, v3 looks the same, but have built in on/off switch, the solder posts is on top of the speedo, and have a slightly different sticker on it.
