Default Pro stock 1956 F-100 build

In my spare time,
Painted a body and picked up a steel roll bar/chassis.

Im not sure just how but the idea is a pro stock truck with wheelie bars sticking out the back

So far im thinking of using a formula 1 racing car/kit for tires, wheels, and suspensions.

feel free to offer good ideas or pics.

Looks good! One question though...

Where did you get the roll cage?

And two suggestions...

1. www.rjspeed.com for some drag racing parts
2. The rear pod assembly from an HPI Formula 10 will accept standard 12mm hex touring car wheels. It also uses standard (not metric) axles and bearings so you can use some standard pan car parts. An F103GT would work as well but i think it uses metric bearings. Someone else could answer that better than me though.

Good Luck!!

pejota:
thank you. Thats a Integy chassis. About $30. I love the thing, very nice part and they have a few sizes.

ALSO,your reading my mind about the rjspeed kit.I didnt want to use it as it is very basic.but i think I have to buy the kit as it will simply work.I like the tamiya formula 1 kits also.tamiya and rjspeed kits can be purchased for only about $100 and would be enough to get a rolling chassis.

katfish317:

Thank you,I like the truck body and Im happy with the fire, lots of chrome also

pro stock truck sounded cool i think.,I need to find wheelie bars someplace or make them.

Default ....try teamwalbern.com......

......your custom project is off to a great start with what you have so far.....I had bought a Pro-Stock(electric)chasis from Team Walbern. They also sell a Gas(nitro) version. Their parts are 'race' quality(composit plastic,"steam roller" type foam[4-bolt,pan-car rear wheels]available also in aluminum and matching skinny fronts- plastic or aluminum). NewEraModels.com has Rc Drag race chassis/parts, too....... good luck and please post your progress.-Greg

well, friday il buy something, not sure what one to get.

The JRSPEED kit would work with the rollbar i have I think.

But I realy like the E.R.A. KIT,real nice looking stuff but I dont think the roll cage will go with it.Think thats the road im heading down, with no roll cage.

I bet the ERA stuff will buff up nice on a buffer also

Ready to run with controls, this should be about %90 of what I need Ifigure.
