40 MHz Crystals

I recently bought 2 Futaba R203HF receivers. They came with Rx crystals and I would like to get the matching Tx crystals. The supplier tells me that you can't get the Tx crystals on their own.

If this is true, why would Futaba supply Rx crystals with the receivers?

Can anyone help me out?

your not the only one......i have a set of jr crystals with a 37.795 frequence......i've asked this before on other sites with no real answer.......i just thought that since i got the radio from outside the us that was the reason for the odd frequence.......

i thought of this before, but when i went to japan, and asked for recievers, they asked me what frequency im running in. the receiver comes with their own channel crystals, all you have to do is remember your channel or frequency #. you dont have to go out and get separate crystals. just get the receiver, pop them in your car and your good to go. i find that pretty helpful. you dont have to get an extra set of crystals

This company is based in the UK, I have bought single RX crystals from them and they list TX ones singly as well.

THAT IS WHY I SAID...."In the US"..........besides....this thread is in the wrong "forum".....THERE IS AN INTERNATIONAL FORUM....specifically>>>>>>>Australian racing<<<<<<<If you want to be technical.

Going back to the question in the thread.......yes you can buy "individual" crystal be it for TX or RX....just made sure they are the same brand ex: futaba, KO, Airtronics,,JR....don't mix-match them. That is where you will have problem. Just my 2cents(US Dollar).........

i presume your radio is originally set-up for 40Mhz?

for X-tals try www.hobbymania.com.hk off of this site or direct.

they take PAYPAL and took me about 10-14 days to get my stuff.

for you it might be even faster since your closer

Actually you can use the 40 mhz in the united states where permited, IF you have the ham liscence from FCC. I still wouldn't though. We have enough problems with "funnies" around here!!!

US Ham only CAN operate in 50 Mhz (six meter)

dsrbltoys 04-15-2004 06:39 PM

OOPS Sorry, thought it was 40. Still like I said, KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid. Mute anyhow if he's outside US.

komkit 04-15-2004 06:46 PM

Yeah, oversea they uses 29,40,49...

Some people in US uses those "odd" ch. here also.

Most of 40~45 mhz here allocated to Fixed Mobile and State of Alaska. They are transmitting high output....

And people who were using "odd" ch wonder why theirs car ran away
