Who sells that aluminum shock pliar tool?
 

I'm interested in getting one to prevent scratches... something that i do all to often. :D

Man that sux. I saw one yesterday while I was boowsing around and now I cant find it.

I've never seen that one before... i was talking about the one piece tool that looks like a regular set of pliars. I'll look into this though... probably much cheaper at any rate.

Yeah, on the DTX thing, I guess it takes a little muscle to clamp it down real tight if your installing new shock ends, but it works.

I havent used it personally though..

yah that's why i think that other tool that i can't locate :flaming: might work better for me. you can most likely squeeze that crap out of it enough to ensure non slippage. That Duratrax tool might slip from the wrench... don't want to risk it.

I have the tool yer talking about....I can't remember the name of the company....

To be honest, it works great on NON-coated shock shafts.....any type of coating, and it rubs them off. I ruined a couple Ti-nitride losi shock shafts with it....

The best thing I have ever used was large wire crimpers with the red handle....I will look at mine tomorrow for the name....any Lowes should have them. Shock shafts fit PERFECT in the crimping part and you just hold tight and you get no scoring or marks....

I've always just used a pair of dikes to hold the shock shaft just above the threads. The dikes will mark the shaft a little but its so close the the threads that it doesn't matter anyway since the shaft will never to compressed into the shock body that far. Its always worked for me anyway....built my first RC10 in 1987
