It depends on how competitive you want to be, The best esc is the Tekin rs pro.
It all depends on how much you want to pay, The more you pay = the better esc.

The Tekin RS Pro is overkill for your application. Get the Tekin RS (not Pro) and save yourself $50.

You could try the new Mamba Max Pro. It's good and cheap, about half of what the tekin costs with hotwire. No need to use all the features the MMP comes with; later you can use and appreciate the other cool stuff. It's a little big though, so plan your chassis layout well.

If you can afford the Tekin RS Pro or RS get it - If not the Only other competitive ESC for less is the Mamba Max PRO.

The Havoc is just old tech with limited features - all three of the above are programmable via a computer the Havoc is not. If you do get a Havoc make sure to get the Havoc pro.

Good Luck,

Ezrun ESC is good. i dont remember full name. or Tekin RS. good price. but if you want great stuff. get yourself a Advanced Black Diamond. That thing is awesome! it not cheap, but you pay and you get the best esc out there. i know the owner of it and the ESC is great.

Just buy what you can afford. Any of the above would work. If you can find a used one for way less money than a new one even better. As a beginner you will pretty much mutilate whatever you buy. Go inexpensive for now. It would still be more than enough for you to learn with and then some. Look in the For Sale Forums here on RCTech. With experience you will eventually buy a new one and not butcher it so soon.

Don’t listen to the brand pimps, if you are new to onroad then any of them will do, Tekin, LRP, Nosram, Speed Passion, Ko, Orion, Novak, just take your pick or choose which colour you like.

I would recommend LRP or KO, excellent mod racing speedies!!

if you want the kinetic, you may be waiting for awhile since novak keeps pushing the relese date. personally i think you should go for the tekin RS. very fast esc with the V203 software, very small and compact, and cheap!!! personally i wouldnt run the esc with the 203 software on it untill you learn a little more. you can burn up a motor real quick with the esc timming advance and turbo, and its a little much to digest when your new.
