Default My Motors are too COLD!!!

well not in a bad way. i just seem to have trouble maxing them out so they get warm. i have a rc12r5 with a tekin RSpro in it. i have run a 2.5 tekin motor on some older 4cell Nimh packs and a novak 17.5SS on a 2s maxamps 3100.

on the 2.5 the ESC got up to 170F while the motor was under 125F on the can. gearing at 96/20 (rollout 28-29mm) and current limit setting at 84 with 10' of timing on the ESC. i was on a 200ft straight and the motor was still pulling hard 2/3 of the way down. is the current limiter keeping me from accelerating harder earlier? are my old batteries (1.5 year old trinity matched EP4600) causing my ESC to get hotter?

with the novak 17.5 on 2s lipo- geared 96/35 (rollout 49-50mm). i have 19 turbo boost and and i think 20 timing boost rpm (about 4000-10000). motor timing should be near zero on motor and ESC. it felt like it was maxing out in the straight and pretty good in the infield.

what are my options as far as gearing, timing and batteries for me to get more out of my motors if they are staying this cool?

If you look in the right corner of the thread there is a button "SEARCH THREAD" if you type in there 1S or 2S then it will search that thread for 1S or 2S !!!!!!

before you jump all over the guy, perhaps try what you are telling him first. id hate to look like an idiot, personally.

technically you cant just search for the query "1S" or "2S" as you so kindly 'suggested.' the system cant do 2 character searches.

i also tried "gearing 1s" and got no matches...

I doubt he ment for you to search it for yourself there but instead was giving you a link to the proper thread to post these questions as thats where 90% of the tekin converstation happen.

He is right. If you try to type 1S(or in my case, F1) you get a "no match" in your search. Now, if you type 1cell you might get something.

nope, i was defending the OP. sarcastically, yes.

and then you said that you CAN, which was helpful perhaps, but i was just making my point that you can NOT by just using the search feature here, not picking a fight with you, or anyone. im not a keyboard warrior. im all for helping this guy finding his info...thats why i said that you cant enter a two character query.

bottom line...benben, post on that thread linked above and hopefully someone will be able to help you. or try the search method that or8ital provided.
