Default TRF dampers, worth buying?

Hi guys,

Im considring buying a set of used TRF dampers, now i already have a set of low friction aluminium dampers on my car (TA04 PRO)

Is it worth me getting them?
Are they that much better that my current shocks
What are the benifits of having them

Honestley, you probably wont see a difference in performance if you already have a set of aluminum low friction dampers. Tamiya shocks have always been very smooth. It hasnt been until about 1 1/2 ago the flourine dampers came out. The newer ones just have a flourine coating on them and the pistons are flourine or teflon I believe to make them even more friction resistant. If you must have a set keep looking on ebay they ususally go for around $40 a set with medium springs.

the trf's do allow for a finer adjustment as they have threaded bodys and do not use spacers for ride height

I'm told one of the usual option folk - Square or Tech - make replacement threaded bodies for the TRF shocks, except theirs are anodised in colours.

Dare say they'd retrofit onto the gold TA03 shockers.
