Ben....I think that the weight of the top deck will be offset by the extra rigidness it offers to the whole car. I have been running my stock chassis car with a doubled up top deck....and that even heavier then the 3mm one from you. Im working on the car right now and will be running it on saturday. I will email you later tonight when I get to work. Im sooo looking forward to this weekend to go run this thing!

You guys should try making some SSG/Blue Carbon stuff...Trust me...It'll move a lot more of the Pro4 chassis out the door. Because my 1st impression was pfft its just a regular Pro4 chassis but THEN I read the Pro4 review and found out the standard is a 2.5....Plus I've seen SSG & Blue chassis being made and sold quickly for cars which already had carbon fiber chassis (ie: X-Ray T1)

Also if you guys can make a stiff Yokomo chassis cheaper than the Rayspeed conversion I bet you'd sell a bunch of those. A lot of people I know are wanting a stiff Yokomo chassis but they decide in the end to get a CGM kit due to the price of the Rayspeed kit.

You seem to read everyone's questions/appriciate the input so I'd figure I could help you out while I had your attention

chckboy5, By pre-ordering you get free shipping in the US.

black kat, Personally I'm not a big fan of the colored carbon. Straight black quasi grade carbon is going to give you the best rigidity. Our chassis is black carbon, but it is not a cookie cutter piece. There are many more options on our chassis plate and you'll see the full potential of it later this summer! But I can't say too much right now

About the Yokomo chassis. I have considered it before and I would be interested in working on one. Unfortunately our local indoor carpet track closed last year and re-opened as offroad only, so it's tough to find racers around here with the Yok SD sedan. But I'll see what I can come up with. If anyone would be willing to donate their Yok SD SSG rolling chassis for a few weeks, let's talk

Everything i have heard about colored graphite is that it's a bit softer than black. Maybe PRP could sell more chassis to guys who want an all purple car. I'd rather have a black death machine to rip off fast laps with. I'd say PRP is about performance.

I understand that black quasi fiber is the best for racers but I'm just saying if you had the option of colored graphite you might be able to make a bunch of cash of those because there are people who arn't as hardcore as us who want a car that looks really cool. Personally I don't care what color my graphite is as long as its damn stiff. You could put exotic colored fiber chassis on ebay and probably make good money for them...Just givin you an idea

I'm sure if you gave a free fiber chassis to anyone who donates a Yoke for measurements/testing you'd find about 10 of them on your doorstep within 3 days

black kat, I appreciate the suggestions- thanks! About the Yok chassis- that would be the deal I am thinking of. If someone could borrow me their SD SSG rolling chassis (no electronics) for a few weeks, they could run the prototype and then get a production version for free

Kevin, AWESOME news, thank you again!

Default Prototype Testing.....

Hey Guys I just wanted to let everyone know how the testing of the PRP Pro 4 "HTS" chassis went....and it went EXTREMELY well over the weekend. The extra rigidity of the chassis was noticeable right from the very first battery pack with how responsive the car was. The fit and finish of the chassis was great for being a proto. I raced the car on a carpet track that has med to higher grip and has way more grip by the end of the night then at the start. It was also raced with foam tires and a 19t motor along with the HTS 3mm top plate. I was able to drop my fastest lap time by 3 tenths by just changing to this chassis. But the biggest improvement was at how consistent the car was. I was able to group multiple laps together with only like a 4 tenths difference for the whole run.....I was never able to get that type of consistency out of the stock chassis. So for the first time out with the chassis I was extremely impressed with all that it offered. Another thing that I have yet to take full advantage of is the adjustable rear wheel base that the chassis has to offer. I will get more time on this chassis I hope in the coming weeks....but for the first weekend I must say that Ben has done an amazing job on this chassis and it will be a great addition to anyone whos looking for a chassis that is more responsive and rigid.
