ben.

thanks...i actually like the Excel style pieces better then the hpi ones.

if you made a version like that i would be interested....please post the drawings you mentioned....i'm sure if pricing was on par if not better then the Excel pieces they would sell.

one problem with the Excel pieces is that they are hard to get in the U.S.

The excel parts are very easy to get... $20 for 4 pieces is very cheap...

I would rather see PRP comeout with aluminum bulkheads for the Pro4 with built in camber link mounts

Default Original PRP camber brace design

I originally drew this along with the chassis kit back in Feb/March.

This would be a 2mm brace you would mount on top of the current camber mounts. You would need to drill holes in the camber mounts if you wanted to run the additional holes. This has not been tested, so I am not sure how well the camber mounts would hold up to addtional holes being drilled.

What do you guys think?

RC Zombies

I would really like to do that, but I am scared that HPI would release the same thing a month after mine came out, then I would be screwed!?!

Erik said HPI has no plans of releasing aluminum bulkheads... but you never know....
probably best not to come out with them.

I like your camber link mounts... but I think drilling 2 more holes on the original bulkhead may weeken that area.

I'd love to see some aluminium bulkheads for the Pro 4 Possibly integrating a design where you can get easy diff access, like what was posted on the Pro 4 thread a couple of months ago.

I tried adjusting the centre post position for the first time on my car last night, I've always run it in the middle hole, but I tried the front hole and somehow it managed to give me more steering and a bit more back end grip! Chassis is still going strong, 3mm is the way to go with foams on carpet!!

Thanks, skill. Great to hear the chassis is still working well for you!!!!

Kevin, I am getting a single prototype done of the camber brace. I might be able to send it to you for testing at the Novak race. There's a catch though, the proto is 2.5mm fiberglass, instead of 2mm graphite which it would actually be machined from if I decide to make some of these. The fiberglass proto is just to test fit and function right now. I'll shoot you an email...

Thanks!

Default setups

can someone post their current carpet setup so i can get an idea of how to start with this chassis? if the best setup is one of the ones that has already been posted just point me to the right one. also the screw heads stick out slightly from the bottom of the chassis is there a good way to make the holes big enough so that the screws are flush?

Hi,

I'm running 37 shore HPI 26mm foams all round on the car, with the HPI 25mm linear red springs on the front and yellow springs on the rear. The shocks at the front are on the inside hole at the bottom, and the outside hole at the top. The rear shocks are in the middle hole at the bottom and the middle hole at the top. I'm running a gold sway bar up front, and no sway bar at the rear. The centre post is in the most forward position and I am running the side plates. Pretty much everything else is as stock settings.

The main thing you want to do though is to run slightly harder springs than you were doing before, because I found that the car rolled a lot with the standard springs.

prp....or kev :P

what do you guys think of 2mm lowers for rubber tire racing. seems most pro setups for the pro4 show them using 2mm lowers...

anyway...what is the chance of prp making some type of pro4 lower?

the team prp hts still looks awesome on carpet/foams...kev what turn mod were you running on sunday......your cars looked sick fast at AJs Raceway.

Hey Nexus,

I have no current plans for a 2mm Pro 4 chassis. I do think a thinner chassis for the outdoor season would be nice but nothing is set right now.

Thanks!

mtflunky, I had good luck with Eli Ezrow's setup that is posted on the Pro4 thread with these changes.

Went with 10wt lower shock oil front and rear, Parma Cyan and Magenta tires, Parma Alfa, laid the front shocks in one hole and ran the rear arms 2mm farther back than stock. It would be a great setup for stock but 19t the car is on edge.
