Default Which motor?

Hi folks,

I am fairly new to this so please be patient!

I am starting back up racing after an 8 year break and wondered what would be the best motor for indoor carpet racing? I have purchased a 2 year old Associated TC5 and have also acquired an LRP 'Sphere' ESC.

I was thinking about a 13.5 turn motor.

Your thoughts please...

I see that you are a starter. I think a 17,5T or as it is a small track a 21,5T better to start with.

Would that be a brushless modified or stock motor?

What is the actual difference between them?

Stock is the high turn motors. The higher the turns the slower the motor.
It was with the speedo that you have.
21,5 beginner on some tracks.
17,5 beginner
13,5 stock
10,5t super stock and lower is all mod.

Now with the new speedo's you can say that 17,5T is stock.
It is not official but with the new speedo's the speed is incredible.

There is further no difference between the motors than only the turns and the speed.

Don't feel bad I was out 5 yrs and am just getting back in (for good I hope). I would run the 17.5 spec motors as well. I am slowly learning about motors and I have heard the Trinity Duo 2 (more torque) and Nemesis (more rpm) are good motors. I found a Nemesis on Ebay for $68 should be getting it today!

Say for instance i went for the Trinity Duo 2 what approximate gearing would you suggest?

The spur gear is 64dp if that makes any difference
