I'm also thinking of buying a 1:12 and that one looks good. I looked ad the DB12RR also. I like the concept.

This car just looks good and also strong.

I like the collar. It's something different.
The only thing i don't like are the tires. I don't like foam tires.
But I think that 1:12 is a must have next winter. You see it grow an grow. Also by the club in Belgium and 1 cell lipo is here also growing.
We will see when the nationals come to the ERCE. I bring my DB10RR and my 235mm pancar just too see what works best on that small track. A 235mm wide pancar with 10.5t on 2 s lipo would be daunting on that small track with those bariers that you have there. .

It's a wonderful car. You nice work.

I like both but here the 1:10 isn't that alive like in the US.
I hope it will come because than I will drive it also.
It has something extra with those bodies.

I have seen a 3,5T with lipo on the track. It doesn't work.

Than we have if everything goes good curbstones.
The track is wider than most tracks only the straight is shorter.

10,5T is to do.

The Carbon fiber plates are a little stronger but both are more than strong enough to withstand some serious crashes.

Thanks for the kind words. We try to offer the best possible products.

Jason - Glad to see you're still designing cool stuff... I took a long break to concentrate on my career and family (I have a 5-1/2 month daughter) Keep up the good work!

Default 1st race weekend...

Hey all, I just thought I would put an update on here about my new Copperhead 10...
I ordered a kit from Jason a week or so ago, got it together last Thursday, took it to run at the Minnesota state champs race at the World of Wheels car show in Duluth Mn. I did not get any chance to drive the car before going, got ONE practice run Friday night, and straight into qualifying saturday morning. car was instantly good, the WGT field there was a small but talented group, ended up in third after quals, and pulled off the WIN in the main! I hardly changed a thing to the car from the initial build, I went from surelube #2, to # 3 in the tubes, and widened the rear track to about max width, 204 mm or so. The only other changes to the car all weekend were gearing and ESC changes, ran with Jaco WGT tires and a DB-9 body, I was very happy overall with the car, fought traction rolling a little as did most others, the wider width and glueing the outside of the front tires helped with that issue... Couple pics...

My Copperhead 10 setup
Front end- 5 degree blocks, full caster, Assoc 12th size .020 front springs,no droop, #2 lube on kingpins, zero toe, 1.5 degrees camber, front width was 192.5 mm, 9650 servo, servo flat, Medium black Kimbrough saver, studs at top holes, one washer under outer studs, tie rods straight both ways...
Shock has 30 wt. with 2 hole piston, stock silver spring, tubes have surelube #3, chassis has a small amount of droop, mybe 1mm or so.
Rear end is all stock, long or soft fiberglass flex plate setting, rear end width is 204.5 mm ride height was kept as close to 4mm as possible to fight traction roll, with pod on same plane as chassis, and about .5 mm more rear ride height, just a little rake and some rear droop...
Tire were Jaco WGT, 53.2 mm front, 54.2 mm rear, sauced full rear 15 minutes, fronts 2/3rds width just before running, sauce was sticky fingers and Jack the slipper mixed,, not much wear for six runs, maybe 1mm total all weekend, good tire wear, no chunking either.
Rollout was 64.6 mm, Motor was an old Novak 13.5, ESC was a Mamba Max Pro, 2500 to 7600 rpm, to 34 degrees , motor timing is slightly advanced...
Body was a DB-9, car ready to run was about 940 grams, I used a 2 cell 600mah heli lipo as a reciever pack, it helped bring the car up to weight, and I don't have to charge that pack every run....
Couple more pics...

Couple of quick build notes...
The car went together very well, I did not get instructions with this early kit, still very simple, I replaced the aluminum ball stud on the front shock mount with a steel one for durability, it sucks to try to get a broken ball stud out of an aluminum part, two of the body posts had VERY shallow holes in the bottoms, drilled them deeper, and the shock was VERY bindy and draggy first build,I reamed the center hole out on the cap at the bottom just slightly and it was much better...
I put the battery at the rear, as My electronics fit better that way, just laying the electronics out the balance felt very close either way, I am old school and think the car looks better that way than battery forward...
All went together well, another first class kit from BMI and Jason, THANKS!!

Jeff, you car looked super dialed on Sunday. Half way through the race everyone was watching the BMI chew a few tenths every lap. I believe this is your second state championship with a BMI isn't it? Props to you for driving a great race and props to Jason for overnighting 3 kits for some guys at the club.

I was wondering about your battery placement...I ran my DB10R with the pack in the middle and really liked the way the car worked. But it sure did feel weird and look weird having the electronics behind the battery. Sure am looking forward to replacing my DB10R and DB12RR with Copperheads

So, has anybody had a chance to try out a 2S LiPo in this car already? I would like to see some pics with the battery placement and hear anything about handling.

@Jason: the new logos are looking very cool, is there a chance to get it on T-shirts? And another hint about shirts - just don't make them white again
