I have a TA04R and my friend has a 04Pro. I think they are VERY fast cars. i like the 04pro hopped up better than my XXX-S much more. It is also very durable and can take a lot of punishment. His upgrades to his car are: Carbon upper/lower deck, f/r shock towers. Ti screws, X-ray battery holding system. mid oneway and some other small stuff. I just love the car.

The main advantage of the carbon stuff was to save weight. The car in the orginal form was pretty heavy and the carbon stuff cut some of the weight down. It also made the car A LOT stiffer resulting in bettering cornering and accleration. Yeah, he had his 414M socks on it and they are SMOOOOOTTHHH wow... so... that's all. hope this helps. BTW, the carbon shock towers didn't make as much of a difference in weight as the upper/lower deck did.

Tamiya dudes,

Is there a big difference in handling between the TA04-R and the 414M?

i have the pro and it handles very well and is very reliable nothing has broken on it since it was built in january only having to replace things like drive belts and diff after getting gravel in them not seen the 414 so cant say how it goes but i would think it would be a imrovment over the pro our autum leagu starts on monday night so looking forward to doing well in that on past form i think i will get in to the top 5 will post a pic of my new bmw m coupe shell when i get my scanner sorted

The 414M is a bit more stable becasue it's a bit longer. Not much difference though

We're going to try a sort of hybrid 04 chassis set up this weekend. A friend had good luck with the 04R chassis at the Nats so were going to mix the 04Pro kit bottom stick pack plate with the graphite top plate. It is stiffer than the saddle pack set up. Also going to try the new B2 tires and toe-in rear uprights.

I'm currently building up a TA04-R.
The front belt seems really tight.
Is there a remedy for this?
