Exclamation 53790 Tamiya Cup Joint for Universal Shaft and Spool adaptor

Anybody bought this item before? What is the silver shaft sticking out of the cup joint used for?? Is it to insert into the other cup joint without the silver shaft? Must this item be used with a spool adaptor? What is the function of the spool adaptor???!

Experts please enlighten me! Thanks!

That part is for the TT01 so you can use universal drive shafts instead of that gigantic stock ones. The Silver part goes into the other diff cup joint to keep it equal I guess.

That part is for a gear diff so I think it won't work with a spool. Unless you decide to lock the gear diff.
