Default battery?

hey my friend lent me a ni-cd battery for a while. im trying it out but it seems weak. if i put the cd battery in my xxx-s will it work? or is it to weak. no matter how long i charge it it lasts about 30 secs and wont turn the gears

Sounds like the battery is dead.
