what would be the best hop up for a tc3?

I currently own a tc3 and i was wondering what the best hop up would be? It has bearing but they're the stock bearing. I also have a 12 turn speed gems in it so i was wondering what the best hop up would be? I have the cornering down i just need top speed.

oh by the way would brushes add speed? :tire: :tire:

Which version TC3 do you have?

rctc3 03-16-2002 02:49 PM

i have the tc3 rtr but i have bought other stuff for it: blue srews, graphite front rear a-arms and shock towers

I'd say a whole spring set, it gives you the tuning abilities. But some people might disagree.

Tires. Try Sorex, Take Off, or Pit Shimizu.

would putting new brushes in my motor give me higher rpm's?

rctc3,

new brushes are good for motors, but what you really want to do is get the comutator trued on a lathe, then put new brushes.

also, motor springs change many things about a motor. the lighter the spring, the more rpm and the less torque. the stiffer the spring, the less rpm and the more torque. if your running a stock motor, try a 13 oz. spring on the negative side and a 9 oz. spring on the positive side. this should be a good start.

if you put on new brushes with out trueing the comm first you will mess it up real quick. i would just buy some good tires and some shock oil and springs and work on your setup. ask some of the better drivers what tires they use and pick up some of those.

tc3 hopups: BRP wide front bumper and nerf wings will save the suspension arms in crashes. for a lighter drivetrain, IRS aluminum input shafts reduce rotating mass. the TC3 is a great car out of the box and you dont need too many hopups.

this might not help your top speed, and it's just 'ease-of-setup' thing, but i'd say the threaded shocks...

wasn't into the threaded shock thing, especially after a friend broke into two the threaded shock body of his street weapon....

let's you set the ride height exactly as you want it, no need to mess around with preload spacers! hey, what can i say? i'm a lazy bum :D

Definitely!

I put the front BRP bumpers on my TC3 and XXX-s and haven't busted a arm or carrier or anything else since. At $10 each they are a bargain.
