Default Tamiya BZ 23T Motor Problem

I have been running a BZ motor for the past 2 months and lately I have been encountering this problem. When running for about 3 minutes the motor will just stop running. Once it stops and I pull on the trigger of the TX, it just wont crank and the LED of my ESC will light up and the motor will have this humming sound. I sometimes turn the wheels to give it a shove and sometimes the motor will start running but then again the same problem will occur after a couple of seconds.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Should I just junk this motor? Hope some RCTech members can help.

It won't be stuffed, jsut needs a clean up.
Have you ever cleaned it out?
There are a few basic things you need to do with a brushed motor to keep it going well:
1. Spray it out with electrical contact cleaner every now and then until what comes out is clear.
2. Lube the bushes with bearing oil. A drop on each side every few runs is all it takes.
3. If you have never replaced the brushes, that is probably your problem. They will be worn out and need to be replaced. Easy on a Tamiya motor as they are screwed in, not soldered on.
4. The comm may need to be cut. Not many people have comm lathes these days, but your local hobby shop may, give them a call.

Do all of the above and it will be as good as new, for a few $$$ instead of a new motor.
