What are the options here? What are other guys doing to strap the battery down with the weight being installed?

I've kinda fabricated a strap down like how 12scales use the rubber band idea.

Hi Sir,

Did you closely follow the diagram in the instructions? If you follow the arrows then it is a breeze to route the tape in and should take no longer then an old style chassis.

Best,

Mike

Hey did you guys notice the new VRC-PRO uses an Exotek lipo chassis for the 416X car model? Pretty cool I thought.

I just recieved my Exotek XR2 chassis - I am going to test it later on today. I have a question though: The chassis has been sanded all the way around and got CA glue. The Xray manual also says to CA glue the front 3 holes for the bumber, and then I wondered: Would it be nescessary to CA glue all the screw-holes, all the bulkhead-screw-holes or just the front 3 holes for the bumper?

So I fitted the new chassis today.

The finish on the edges and the pulley-cutouts are pretty good. But the finish on the countersunk holes are not good. I know I am used to Xray quality, but this did look messy.

When trying to put the new chassis on, I experienced a couple of problems. The servo-saver-"holder" (Xray T2 '009) didn't fit. I had to use my Dremel a bit to get it to fit.
One of the screw-holes for the rear bulkheads was a little bit of, causing to tweak the chassis a bit. So I had to drill it out a bit to get it to fit properly.

It is supposed to have 3 lipo positions, but I could actually only just fit my lipo in the outer-most position (and not a height-issue - it was a width-issue). So no real ability to play around with lipo-position.
I have the steel cups, and I only needed about 20g to get the car perfectly balanced at 1300g.

With the chassis fitted, I headed to the track. First thoughts: I don't like the way to mount the battery-tape. I think it is pretty hard to mount and unmount the tape.

It is hard for me to judge the performance on the track, as I also switched to a new radio, so I can't say what did what, but I did cut 0.1 sec of my former best lap-time - and that was with my first battery!
