the oval track I used to race at had what I believe was called "ozite". Not sure where to get it though

edit: after a quick google search, ozite.com...or try your local carpet dealer

Default carpet

I spoke to Ozite a couple of years ago and they no longer distribute the carpet. The business for RC carpet from Ozite was taken over by Calandra Racing in the USA

We got ours from Menards, direct from Ozite.

Forever brand is the name, and they even have several colors.

Here's the PDF from the webpage...

N32H Granite is what we got.

Calandra racing ozite is a lot different than the Menards ozite, the CRC carpet is racing carpet.

We ordered our carpet thru a Menards...... we didn't buy the crappy "speaker box" off the giant rack stuff from your local Menards.

If you look at the Ozite website, Menards is listed as a Distributor for Ozite.

After talking to a salesperson, it took a few weeks for delivery. It doesn't fuzz at all, and we're on our 3rd season. Already gave you the part #.

You can't order carpet from "Ozite.com"....you have to go thru a distributor.

If you use foam tires on the off-road cars/trucks, it will hold up pretty well. Rubber tires are tough on the carpet. The larger problem is the off-road cars digging into the carpet from bad landings. The chassis edges can tear the carpet.

Default Offroad on Carpet

We run off-road classes on our CRC carpet at the Hobbytown track in Oshkosh, WI. Temporary jumps are moved on to the track for the off-road classes. Rubber mats are placed on the track to protect the carpet after the larger jumps. The biggest problem came from Slash SC trucks where the rear bumper mount pops off the chassis. Several tears in the carpet were caused by this before someone figured out what was going on. Slash drivers are now required to use the RPM rear bumper mount or a race director approved fix for the rear bumper. The SC truck classes are required to use stock type tires. Other truck classes such with trucks like the AE T4 run foam tires. It seems the carpet is wearing a little faster with the SC trucks racing, but it is by far the biggest class. The drivers of the regular road classes (Vintage, stock rubber touring car) are happy to live with a little more wear and tear on the carpet if that is what it takes to have enough drivers to keep a racing program going.

Yes you can buy direct, you just have to order a certain amount. I know, I talked to them and received samples of their carpet when I was looking for carpet for the local track. My findings was that verything in there line either had a pile that was a little high for racing or a pattern, including the 'Forever' I remember it specifically because it was the closest to racing carpet they offered. Not saying it wouldnt work, just wasn't what we were looking for.
