Ok so we get you are a Tekin fan think we all get that lots of people out there are.

However personally purchased at BD because I can afford to run one.

This forum was labeled "Black diamond setups", Belive Tekin have there own forum where you can tell people how much you like it there.

Visit this forum looking for advice on how to setup the BD not worry about how much it cost or how wonderful Tekin 203 software is..

I run 1/12th scale with a LRP x12 10.5 running timing oooo.. What kinda rollout would I need as a good starting point on a small / medium none carpet setup.

Frank or AE driver would be nice to get some assistants

Thanks
Alex

Yes I now how to setup the Tekin bud it isn't that hard.
And as Tekin comes with the things that they want, than you can setup ad home the profiles and you don't need a laptop on the track.
I use now the same setup on every track I drive indoor. I only change the gearing.

I looked ad the BD my self, bud when Tekin came with the V203 it was over.
The BD is to expensive for me and a lot of other drivers.
That is there biggest loss ad the moment.

I know most are doing this so lets continue to keep this a discussion about the Black Diamond speed control. Thank you.

I think discussion on the bd is good but this thread was intended for setups so if anyone can help a racer with that please don't let it go unheard.....OK about the bd i think some one mention it before about the bd is good on smaller tracks i would say there 100% correct with the testing i did with 17.5 on a smaller track the bd has it all over the tekin 203v but on a larger tracks i personally think the tekin will come out on top the bd seems to run out of puff before the tekin but the bottom end on the bd seems to keep the tekins at bay''for now''.i would like to see there be somewhat of a firmware upgrade for the bd soon because with the spec class speedy are out dated so fast unless there upgradable.

Dumper,

Thanks for the starting point. 60-66 rollout

Just spent 10 minute working out what Spur I can use

Is there a starting point for Mod racing, would be anything from 3.5 t- 4.5t, I like to run very quick

Seem you could be the person to ask if you have any info on the update / updated software.. This is a good forum as any to start / brake rumors

Thanks for the help
Alex

You know, if you really want to keep this thread on the straight and narrow you might want to refrain from saying " the BD has it all over the Tekin v203". You are just inviting the type of discussing that you claim you want to avoid.

well guys done some more testing today with 17.5 with the bd along side a fast 203v tekin and there was no differences in top end but the bd had a better bottom end so if your keen on spending about $200.00 us more then its up to you there is not much between them

For mod (3.5-4.0) Profile 1 with a rollout around 1.35. Higher profiles are faster, but are harder to drive and generate more heat.

I work for CRC and have alot of experience with the Advanced speed controls, including the brushed unit, so I will answer what questions I can.
