are parma tires direct fit in a t-fource? coz the crc ones have this deep hole in the middle for the nut.

I think Bill's original idea will work best to get everyone out to begin with. By that I mean we start out with stock for a few weeks and then see if everyone is liking that we could stick with it or if there is enough interest to go to 19T without killing the stock class then go from there. I think Crashby siad - it's what everyone has- so there will be less equipment issues.

What do you think?

Chris.

Sounds like a good idea Chris, although I think you'll find out pretty quickly that most asphalt tracks are too wide open for 4 cell 12th scale stock. Either way i'll be out there soon hopefully.

Got some bits and pieces to bandaid together a 12L3 (yes, I know i'm cheap:lol: ) Just need some more stuff before I can start assembly.

Who makes the stick on teflon disks for the upper pod plate? Does anyone use them anymore, or do they sand it smooth, use grease, or the teflon disks from the F103? Sorry for all the newbie questions on something that's probably been covered 10 times before, but it's been at least 5 years since i've run a non-tube car

Stick on teflon damper disks? Wasn't that Dan's R/C Products? I remember they had the bananna yellow header card.

Parma tires will work, and in my opinion are a lot better than CRC, but the rears are offset so you need to add spacers equally on both sides to make up the difference.
Parma fronts use flanged bearings, so the CRC kit bearings will not work.

I think you are right about that. The idea is to bring out the new stock guys we picked up this year, so running stock should help.
Hopefully, after a race or two, everyone will be wanting a little more horsepower.
As we discovered last summer-19t asphalt is fun!

I am totally game for that. My initial plan is to attend all the racing at Ripon and potentially get to some Modesto events. Otherwise, I really need to support weekend TC racing in the SF Bay Area.

I wouldn't care if I came in last (somewhat likely). Just getting to race with you guys is a joy.

Looks good Primus. The surgery was a success.

James has a good point about outdoor tracks being much wider and bigger. If that's the case, I think 19t would be the hot ticket for asphalt.

Dude..outside, stock would be painfully slow for a 1/12th scale.

19T would be a great blend of speed and sanity.

inside outside

The carpet tracks that we race on in Nor-Cal are pretty big (does anybody know the dimensions at Stockton?). As a matter of fact, I think the tracks we ran 19t on last year at Santa Rosa and Cloverdale were somewhat smaller than Stockton. Differences in bite and track design notwithstanding, stock racing should be about the same, indoors or out.

Ahhhhhhhhhh...Oh wise one...You are right!

For most track setups, Stockton's back straight is 120' long (outside to outside) and would likely be called 100' long (inside to inside).

Well, I had my 12L4 out on the track for the 1st time tonight. It is alot different than my TC. 50 x 100 carpet track. I will race it this weekend. I hope my batteries will last. My new 4 cell packs will not be in till Tuesday next week.

The seems to have to much steering. I started with the kit setup. I changed the center spring to a silver 8.0 from the green 6.0 and it seemed to help some witht the steering. Tires where purple fronts and grey rears.

Overall I think it is going to be fun. We had a indoor asphalt track open a month ago 55 x 100 in Frederick, MD. It is really smooth. We are planing on getting 12th scale going this spring.

Try the 0 or 5 degree front blocks. The 10 degree blocks make the steering too aggressive for some drivers (especially me).
